….it looks like MoM has 3 selections this month, I’m sure he’ll take your vote for Giovinco into account. Worth noting, Mister Policeman and Maxxum have already made into the forum Yankees so far this year.

No worries Eggs, I’ll be honest not read back all the monthly yankees yet.

Just thought for prices maybe worth throwing in a couple of speculative votes.

Agree with Archie though seeing his comments about the El Fab and Galopin double have played that and the Gerri El fab a few times with free bets.

….getting close to BANC decision time for MOM.
 
Sat opposite the O’Learys after their missed that won the champion bumper for what they called posh fish and chips. Lobster in seafood bar. They said plan was to go straight novice chasing as per Florida pearl. It can be done and Willie with fact or file look just as good a chance as any,

Missed That
was the name of a horse that won the champion bumper and was set to go novice chasing and skip hurdling. But unfortunately got injured after his novice Chase season and was 6th in the arkle
was a big gamble for the bumper from memory.

I do like Iroko, but am concerned about the record of 6yo's in the race. One 6yo winner in 17 years, and that was Don Poli. Just 4 winners 6 or under since 1979. That's not to say he can't win, but I'd prefer the chances of others who are a similar price; Sandor Clegane and Giovinco for example.
 
Am off to my mates funeral this afternoon so I’ll re read the thread tomorrow and Saturday to choose the fourth selection for the BANC and have the final Yankee up Sunday.

Thanks as always to everyone for so much good stuff throughout the thread. Makes my decision harder but that’s how it should be! Can’t wait for us to land it one year and the whole forum goes crazy haha.

The good news trends-wise for Iroko is that only three Pipe winners have gone on to run in a novice chase at the following year's Festival, and two won and the other was an unlucky loser. Also they were all 6yos in their novice chase year.
On the opposite side of the coin, two ran in the Turners, and all were trained by WPM. They were of course Sir des Champs, Don Poli ans Galopin des Champs.

Sorry , i can't remember where i read it , but in an interview with the Trainer .
He said Iroko would be stepped up in trip and go Chasing . So, b.a.n.chs., or n.h.chs. for me .
Could have been after Aintree. ?.
 
Given the data above from Black Dog and BigChaang I am putting my vote behind IROKO for the final place in the August Yankee. Corbetts Cross is a close 2nd but there seems to be little love for him amongst the FJ's.
 
Again, I’m not anti Iroko as a horse, but I would think on the fact that Black Dogs stats also identify that only 3 pipe winners have even competed in a novice chase the following year (1 in 5 chance roughly) and that all of them were trained by Mullins. As much a stat against Iroko as for him.

We’ll find out soon anyway.
 
Iroko popular. Higher rated than Sandor Clegane as well over Hurdles which did surprise me. 25's about Iroko compared to 16's SC.......
