Arkle/Marsh/RSA/NH Chase - Novice Chasers 2021 (new)

Court Maid is the proper second favourite in race that up until now didn't really have a second favourite. As I said elsewhere she can only have one crack at the National Hunt Chase. It would be a strange owner who doesn't want a Cheltenham Festival winner. She was 20/1 the other day, now she is clearly second favourite it might put a different complexion on the target, if indeed they did actually favour going elsewhere.

I suspect given the yard, that connections won't be shy having a bet either. The source of sufficient money to move her price may well be closer to home that the tipsters.

I'm not saying it's all from the tipster end so to speak but we all know most things with any media presence whether that be digital/social or paper have a knock on effect generally. On races to date you could easily argue the 14-16s is/was a very fair price vs others around that pricing.

Hoping The Big Getaway shows plenty of class and scope on his debut tomorrow:bull_head:

Me and you both.

I didn't see TBB earlier and am only hearing result now. Can someone summarise the race?

Not much to summarise. The Big Breakaway having looked awkward throughout eventually masters 100/1 shot but despite not jumping that fluently himself, Bold Plan sits in behind, is pulled out to challenge at the last and easily masters the favourite. The favourite looks a total mess and the suspicion would be that the winner didn't have to do an awful lot to beat him.

Thanks KB - well that sucks! I'll watch it when I get back and try and seek comfort in the trip being too short and Tizzard not being able to buy a winner atm, but based on what you and other people have told me perhaps its bubble burst.

Never looked comfortable at the trip, IMO. I know others will say different. It was a very odd bit of placement so quickly after his previous outing.

Interested to see where and how he goes next time out, and I'm not chucking the tickets away until then.

Thanks COD. I'll cling on (as if I have a choice without cashout ffs):tiger:

There's no doubt it was disappointing but my first thought was to check the RSA market in the hope that he'd hit 33/1. He didn't, unfortunately.

He didn't jump well but he's never a two and a half miler. If I had backed him, I wouldn't be giving up hope.

Have added him at 20s to support my monkfish bets

Hoping he impresses tomorrow, hes even bigger than monkfish so he'll be able to step over the fences

Is it just me or do others think Monkfish like TBB also has a very high head carriage and jumped a couple iffy last weekend as well as a number of spectacular

Agree about the Monkfish head carriage. I can't remember who pointed out but it might have looked exaggerated next to Sam's Profile.

I can't see it myself. Monkfish didn't meet a couple on a perfect stride, but never looked like coming down, and those couple aside he was as solid as you could get. The Big Breakaway carries himself like a dodgepot with his head hanging out to the right. In both races he has looked close to pulling himself up. Monkfish has shown none of those traits and couldn't have battled harder to win the Albert Bartlett.

Really impressed again with Allmankind there - he's some jumper. Good run from Hitman too who looks like he's still got a frame to fill out.

Big Getaway turned over too!

TBG probably needed the run and further, but its really not been a good few days for my RSA book.

Unfortunate to not even see Sempo who I was also looking forward to.

I don't think we saw a festival winner in that last few minutes. :eek-new:

The Big Getaway, bang average (at best) chase debut.

Allmankind loads better that him, but he just won't be good enough - you'd be very happy as a backer though, can't ask for more than he's done.

Changed my mind straight away......

Allmankind 16/1 BetVictor

Can anyone see better?

I might even add that....

The Big Getaway needs plenty of schooling on that showing.
