Arkle 2020

It's not a guess. It's 38 years of watching top class racing. She will not be going Arkle. I can't make it any clearer than that.

Lobos you may have 38 years of watching top class racing , I have more experience than you but that does not mean I’m a better judge than you .
You DO NOT KNOW
It’s your opinion , just as it was your opinion that BDD would run in the Stayers despite Mullins stating she would run in theMares and others posting that fact.
Like everyone on this site you are entitled to your opinion , often belligerently so IMO -:))))))
The written word is easily misinterpreted

And guess what........I'm a flat earth believer. Please don't get me going on that one ! Lol ! Just trying to pass my opinion on. It may be stronger than some like on here but when I'm passionate about something I'm not afraid to voice it. Apologies if it offends anyone, but that's just me and I'm sure people will get used to it after a time. Take my advice or leave it, I'm not fussed either way.

I like your passion Lobos but positive discussion becomes very difficult when people make unexplained definitive statements. It’s not conducive to positive debate/discussion and often leads to a relentless back and forth that moves away from discussing other contenders and information people might find useful. I like the fact you don’t sit on the fence and you make your view clear, fair play.

If it comes up testing like the last two years, then yes, she's going to be difficult to beat

If the ground comes up good-soft, and the field cuts up (5-6 runners), then she could be vulnerable.

As it stands, I'm with Fakir at double figures and will be more than happy to cover that with some Laurina double/trebles

Would Laurina’s target not be very ground dependent? Soft ground surely goes Arkle, good ground JLT?

I started off saying to myself “wtf” over most of your comments now I’ve reduced it to “ah it’s Lobos”

Learning

I like your opinions Lobos, very entertaining. You’re the threads very own Matt Chapman and like him occasionally you’ll be proven correct on some of your out of the box opinions

With regards to Laurina I think she race in the JLT instead of the Arkle too

Enjoyed that lads.
Another classic Fat Jockey Forum debate on where a horse might end up running at the festival.
At least we know she's going for the new Mares race in 2021 :)
Or is she :devilish:
Lobos ?

:disgust: I'm horrified by some of this.

Lobos, nobody is "offended" that you're displaying your opinion as fact. I assume (if they're like me) they are [annoyed] to read statements that are opinion that aren't justified or backed up in any way.

As charlie quite rightly put:
It’s not conducive to positive debate/discussion and often leads to a relentless back and forth that moves away from discussing other contenders and information people might find useful.

Great name for a horse .....
“ I’m not fussed anyway “
Owned by TKP & Lobos ?
I was initially v annoyed with those BDD quotes but am now firmly in the Jack camp

If I was to justify my opinion it would go something like this..... Laurina looked very comfortable over 2 1/2 miles yesterday, swinging along in deep ground, jumping well and winning easily against an RSA horse. Despite Mullins saying she could drop back in distance Paul felt the distance was right for her. In the Arkle she would be going that much quicker and maybe be asked to move out of her comfort zone trying to keep tabs with leaders which could put pressure on her jumping. The Arkle is also run on the old course which is more for the speedier types as opposed to the JLT new course which suits the staying types like her. I also think Mullins has 2 perfectly adequate Arkle horses already, in Melon who I still think will end up here (even more so with Laurina going JLT) and Robin De Carlow who's chase win has been franked by another Arkle bound horse.

Perfect. That is exactly the kind of post that is welcomed.

I've banned myself from discussing Laurina's target so I'll let others continue :)

Very unlikely that Robin De Carlow goes to the Arkle.

I was thinkng NH chase/ irish national so some contrast.

But beforehand prob would make sense to go pot hunting via the mares chase program. Vroum vroum was the biggest earner out of everything her year.

Hope the situation gets resolved so she can run for you.

Thanks.

She's only small so big weights or big fences might be an issue. Stamina won't.

Has anyone heard anything on Pic D' Orhy this season, or have I missed something? I backed him any race ages ago but all seems very quiet. TIA

He ran in France the other week and fell over.

That's fair justification, until the RDC part of course!

If she can jump slick she'll be fine in an Arkle IMO. Footpad stayed further but was just fine in an Arkle. DDG stayed further over hurdles, was fine over 2m albeit in a terrible Arkle.

I could see her in either tbh, but the way this is shaping up it would probably be the easier option.
