Arkle 2020

I never thought Dynamite Dollars was much use but interesting Nicholls says Grand Sancy is definitely on his level..sounded bullish as per for Saturday.

Thought DD was the Arkle winner and backed him accordingly. Gutted when he got injured.

I'll be slightly disappointed if he jumps round and is beaten, even on his chase debut. the race dosent took that strong to me. In relation to an arkle.

torpillo needs heavy ground, he has no change of gear.

Nube negra is ok, but not very good. He's beaten zero. And is considerably over rated. Ballymoy was running the wrong way round on seasonal debut over a trip to short

Summerville boy could be decent and imo is the main danger, imo he needs to step up up in trip as he goes up in grade.

Marie banrigh is very unlikely to get an uncontested lead. She'd need one to win.

Add to that the possibility of him running a potential Churdle winner close in his prep over hurdles.

I've had a look at the Torpillo, Nube Negra, Summerville Boy race and thought Grand Sancy was an awesome bet each way at 5/1. Best of them over hurdles, good first time out.

Negatives for Torpillo and Summerville Boy are that they want soft ground at best, and Nube Negra has absolutely no substance to his form yet so i was willing to take them on.....

Then realised it's 5/1 with 2 places, not 3.

Hope he's still similar on the day of the race when 365 do their extra places because I'll have a whack at the 3 places.

Chase debut in this race, a race Nicholls has targetted before....(won 4 renewals recently) he'll have been schooling loads so no worries about that for me.

I'm going to have a win bet now just in case the price collapses......

Price of 33/1 isn't enough for the Arkle for me at this stage though - seeing that he's only 4th in the market for an easier race this weekend that doesn't strike me as value, for all that he'll definitely get cut if I'm right and he wins it...

As a Notebook backer I'm hoping EDB franks the form against Tornado Flyer today at Navan. Not sure the drop back will suit TF as he looked in need of every yard when staying on LTO.

Changed my mind, it is.

My faffing has become infectious, clearly :highly_amused::devilish:

For the worse.

No chance for Nube Negra or Torpillo as I guessed :highly_amused:

Grand Sancy was pants though, who I did fancy.

Back handed compliment to Angles breath

Standard crap UK 2 mile chase division as noted a few times.

Don't know what anyone was expecting. The Irish, aside from Altior just do dominate it, in recent years.

Shame Brewin' didnt make it today. Fancy he would have won that and cemented his position as best UK 2 mile novice.

Fanion destruval has looked as good as any of the irish to date.
If he was irish in the pink and green, everyone would be all over him

I am all over him at 50's. Him and Brewin are the only two from the UK that still have any chance in this for me.

Even so though, Fanion is only a recent acquisition, he was French trained up until recently, and I'm sure Venetia has probably got some improvement out of him but ultimately he was a French trained coming in to the season for me. Just brought a ready made like some try doing in the Triumph.

Really? Did you see southfield stone behind fanion destruval.

Yep. He was giving Fanion the best part of a stone wasnt he? Whereas Brewin beat him easily enough giving him weight.

Don't get me wrong, I like Fanion and managed to nab some 50's but I still prefer Brewin' at the minute.

Gordon elliot could have rode him, and he'd have still beaten southfield stone.
Hopefully they meet

The weights would put them close though Scooby.
Fanion effectively won a handicap off 130, getting 12lbs from Southfield.
Brewin gave Southfield 6lb.

Well I don't think Tornado Flyer is what you'd call a 'flashy sort' :highly_amused:
