Arkle 2020

Melon is a very fair price, and given his festival antics in previous seasons is certainly a solid e/way bet. I have some free bets to use this weekend and can see him being one of them, despite what WPM has said.

What a difference a couple of days makes.
If you think the horse needed a trip the other day, you should stick to it. and stop faffing.:devilish:

Christ you sound like my missus!

I'll faff how I want, and FWIW I do think he needs a trip, which is why I backed him 'any race' instead of race specific bets (for cash), BUT he has become a price I feel represents value for a place should Willie change his mind, yet again!

Free bets are no harm to my bank balance so don't you worry about me :devilish:

Takes a few days for it to sink in for some don't it ?

It was Sizing John beating Empire of Dirt in the Irish Gold Cup that taught me this lesson.
I had EOD as my Gold Cup horse, and thought he ran well but was chinned by Sizing John in Ireland. Gutted when EOD was routed to the Ryanair, but then I saw the light, that if I liked EOD so much for the Gold Cup then why didn’t I like Sizing John in his place, as they had finished side by side last time out. Second thoughts won the day.

Yep - exactly the same with me.
And a lovely watch that was seeing the 2 miler with class cruise in behind and then finish it in style.

Shame that connections don't see the same in Defi du Sueil this season, as I'm pretty sure he is a similar type.

Put The Kettle On up to 142. With the 7lb allowance that is only a couple of pounds below Duc Des Genievres' mark when the tapes went up for the Arkle.

Breaken is entered on Sunday. Absolute nutjob last season, he'd make Great Field look sane but there's plenty of talent in the locker. Could be interesting if fences help him to settle.

Backed Tornado Flyer and Nube Negra both at 33s for this.

Looks a weak race. TF is going for the races that Willie sends his Arkle horse too which is a good sign and he has some talent that Willie can hopefully bring out of him. He’s got potential. Just a case of him showing it if and when. 33s is huge.

I’ve been impressed with Nube Negra more than any other in the market this season that’s jumped a fence. Thought he was excellent over his fences last time and his hurdling days show he has an engine. Again, 33s is very decent in my view in what looks a very weak race.

a few entered up at Kempton on Monday Thomas Darby, champagne platinum and precious cargo....

You're welcome :p

This race really is waiting for a big performance but I can't see where this is coming from. Seen as this race seems to be short on quality does anyone fancy precious cargo, still 25/1.

I know hendo loves bigging up his horses but he was well backed for the aintree grade 1 although he didn't really get involved. This race probably won't take much winning atm, I'm considering taking a punt on him....

It will come from Ireland

Maybe from Felix Desjy. The latest I read,I think, was that he would be going chasing if they could get him out before Christmas. As low as 12-1 with PP, has there been a recent update?

I’d need to see him jump a fence before touching him at that sort of price. Erratic jumper

Good news, had written him off as hadn't seen a word on him, but he was one of my first 'any race' bets after the festival. There's some sort of hope at least.

His forms a little bit better than I thought it was before I started this post so I've had to start again.

Best price 16s though isn't quite big enough for me because he's not been too effective at Cheltenham compared to some flatter tracks (obvious one being Aintree where he won his G1)

I would want to see him jump too, as that'd make a big difference because I'd want to KNOW he's going to be a better chaser than he was hurdler.

Probably will be, but I don't want to gamble on that or assume it, at 16/1.

Along with other stablemates Cash Back + Royal Rendezvous. Mullin's tends to send a good one here. Leap of faith with either being as good as the previous runners he's had!

Douvan started there, Un De Sceaux the week after at Thurles, I'm not sure it matters where they start, just which one ends up the best throughout the season. Did Melon also start in the race Footpad started in?
