Arkle 2019

They hardly need the money I'd imagine.

A bet on the JLT isn't going to stop them going for the Arkle if that's how NH sees it IMO.

Its plain to see if you look at the horse what his best trip will be. Their racing manager agrees the owners agree. All the hendo talk is because he's lacking an arkle contender the same owners have one they want to run in the arkle In Lough derg spirit.

If NJH feels strongly that the Arkle is the race for the horse, then that is where he will run, regardless of what the owners say or think.

Im a JLT backer, but this is a top class contest at the weekend, and if he wins well it will be a virtual certainty he will be Arkle bound for me.

Even if you look at his comments last year he said 2 mile horse is very sharp and quick. Henderson has made his mind up and you'd imagine he will get his way. I'm on for the JLT too.

Very much hoping to see him outpaced at the weekend by the likes of Lalor and DDS...

Relax, he hasn't ran in the race yet. And it's a long long way until March. I for one would be happy for him to run and win. I'd be very dissapointed if he did run and diddnt go very close.

People forget about lami serge very quickly who was arkle all the way and 2nd fav until the owners said differently.

If I remember correctly, Lami Serge was switched to avoid Douvan.

Let's also not forget .

Last year
1st NHH won by 18L against the supreme 3rd river wylde and ended up in the grand annual

2016 le prezien ended up in the grand annual.

2015 garde le victoire
Ended up in the JLT

2014
Dunraven storm pulled up in the arkle at 50/1

2013 Dodging bullets
4th in the arkle behind western warhorse

Don't think he will run anyway.

NH saying it's probably too soon in one of his Unibet podcasts.

Nicky Henderson has forgotten more about horse racing than any of us forumites will ever know. I'm sure he'll do the right thing and give the horse the best chance of success come the Festival.

And N Henderson ought to have a word with his owners (bit of media training), as whilst well meaning and enthusiastic.
For some people they'll end up as the devil (and gets social media dogs abuse), for simply having a dream and shouting out targets on twitter.
Only for it not to happen.
I'm sure they tweeted also - Lust for Glory - Supreme, the other day after it won.
Whilst it may happen, it might not.

LDS made chase debut over further doubt it will be an Arkle horse.

Maria's benefit wins. Amd shes a lovely mare But she's no arkle winner. I'd have expected her to dispatch jester jett with a lot more authority there.

She's no Laurina, that's for sure ;)

I think Maria’s benefit is definitely worth a shot in the Arkle at 44/1 boosted on William Hill. She’s no laurina but she jumps nicely and cruses through her races. It’s early days but there’s not too much confirmed for the Arkle market which is likely to cut up badly. Her winnning record speaks for itsself and there’s no shame in finishing behind Laurina at Cheltenham. Personally I was impressed with her two wins over fences and feel that jester jett is a good yard stick. I will take 44/1 as its too big in my opinion even if just playing for the EW. #keen

I thought she travelled well and jumped well. JJ isn't a bad horse and I don't think Maria's was given the full treatment. I was reasonably impressed without the WOW factor. The 44s is too big Will I agree.

As far as I know Maria's Benefit isn't entered this weekend but a number of Arkle contenders are. Madness to back her now when her price will remain the same on Monday and you will have loads more info to base your bet on

They deffinately have took a view adding her straight at 40s. She goes for the wayward lad at Kempton next on boxing day. So will meet the boys , There's no way I could knock that bet ew at 44s

It was said tongue-in-cheek with regards to previous Champion Hurdle credentials of Laurina etc.... :)

FWIW, I actually like Maria's Benefit, think she is a very good animal herself. Not sure I view her as a festival winner, so am happy to pass her on this occasion, however she is not one I could pass over throughout the season, so will be interesting where she goes next.
