Arkle 2019

As the only saying goes .... Better to be lucky than good

I thinki Can't Catch Me mentioned him very early on here, certainly was the prompt for me to have a look. Would be dying in a ditch for the Arkle without taking a flyer on him at 33/1 before he ran!

Exactly the same.

Added Hardline 12/1 NRNB. If Getabird lined up in this Arkle, even with the left handed issues, what price would he be? I reckon he would be at the top of the market at 10/3 or something like 3/1. Hardline beat him fair and square and is 4 times the price in a weak race. This point was made on the FFP btw so its not really my own, but I thought a good point nonetheless.

He didn't beat him fair and square :highly_amused: He would have lost if Getabird hadn't screwed the last fence up and landed flat footed, but he was certainly close enough in proximity to be counted for sure, so I do take your point.

I have added him 'any race' last week too.

Yeh fair point. I just watched back and I was wrong. Still happy with performance as you say

What did Paddy Mullins just say about Cilaos on the RP preview? Sounded like, when asked about him being out, he said “no, were still on tenterhooks”. Might be wrong..

That's what I heard as well I'd just switched on so thought I might have misheard so glad someone else heard it

What, he must be having us on? This would be the greatest comeback ever!

Surely not if he's done his ligaments......I can't take this emotional rollercoaster.....he must have missed plenty of work though even if he makes it here?

I heard he'd pulled a muscle. Where did the ligament quote come from?

Im sure I read a quote that Mullins vet said they "though that it was a pulled muscle but it was a ligament issue so he wont be traveling"

Is the the quote not in this thread somewhere?

Cilaos ruled out. A ligament issue rather than a muscle problem.

*I've been told this but struggling to find confirmation

**Unfortunately we schooled Cilaos Emery at Navan on Sunday and what we thought was a pulled muscle turned out to be a ligament problem. He won't be travelling."

FM quoted this a while back

I saw the interview with mullins on tv,
and he actually said
he needs taking out of the betting as we've had an update
then went on to say about the ligament.

perhaps when patrick said tenterhooks.
He meant actual "tenterhooks"

Fancied Lalor for ages, now in the classic position of wanting him to get beat just to make myself feel better for talking myself into doubting/stupidly not backing him before the race and price fell apart! Will still end up backing him...

I just watched it about 10 times and I think there may be a glimmer of hope. Surely he would have said he is out of that was absolutely the case.

I'm not even considering this to be true.

Life isn't that kind.
