Arkle 2019

They wouldn't both end up as Arkle horses though unless there was a JLT standout contender and I can't see one of those either...

Different owners, depends if they want to find out who's better beforehand. And ofcourse both would still have to make it there.

Willies comments on Getabird in the ATR stable tour..
‘I suspect he’ll end up in the mid-range or staying divisions. He seemed to show a preference for racing right handed so we might try to lean that way if we can’

That was a while back. He's spoke since. Starts over 2M. Don't forget they've lost draconien.

I must admit Paloma was not on my radar and today's run didn't surprise me. Just doesn't win enough races for me. Think that's 1 win from 9 starts under rules.

He's just not that good imo. Was hesitant, jumped poorly. Found little

Yep, fair point. The preference for going right handed is still a worry

More immaturity for me. Another season to strengthen up and mature, a fence In front of him, lets see what he can do.

The previous handler Colin bowe who's a fine judge always said he'd be a 2 mile chaser.

Yeah it is too early to start predicting what Ruby will ride when neither have jumped a fence in public yet... I just like the angle of finding the "right" one and having an each way double.

I'd expect Ruby to place in both the Arkle and the JLT - and I want to be on the right side of his rides as soon as I can be. II know you don't like multiples but I find these to have lovely potential for a small outlay.

2015 - Un de Sceaux (1st) and Vautour (1st) (was easy to spot quite a way out)
2016 - Douvan (1st) and Black Hercules (1st) - was impossible to spot until a few days before!
2017 - ***Altior was an absolute obvious standout***(1st) and Yorkhill (1st) who avoided Altior IMO, was an easy double to place
2018 - Footpad (1st) and Invitation Only (PU) - was fairly clear cut from a way out?

I'm not saying that's a sensible bet each year, but it's something I've looked out for since it worked in 2015 and I will be again.

2016 wasn't impossible if you followed PP in a couple of weeks out. . I had black Hercules 50s in singles but also an ew double on black Hercules 50s JLT shaneshill 33s RSA. Id have cried if the 2 days were the other way round as good old blaklion dug in, when shaneshill would have traded very short.

I'm not putting up this one for the arkle but I'll give you your next st calvados . You might well get 100/1 and he'll give you a bit of fun to follow. Hes a legitimate case, If they place him similarly, he'll look a proper animal.

On basis Gigginstown horses generally make better chasers ...

Interesting what Gordon said about his form vs Getabird before Supreme

"Mengli Khan [Sky Bet Supreme Novices' Hurdle] ran out at Leopardstown but his runs before that were very, very good. On form, I can't see how we can beat Getabird. I stood at the last hurdle that day and he impressed with the way he went by me.

"A few of the very shrewd judges are telling me that Getabird is better going right-handed, so that is one thing I am hoping might help me. But for me, he is a worthy favourite and will be very hard to beat.

Mengli khan isn't your typical giggingstown horse. Iv took a chance on him at 20s on grounds of value, With a chance to cash.
Id be hopeful, without getting too excited on him. hopefully he wins effortlessly during the week.

PP as low as 4/1 about Lalor now. That seems very short.

It could well be a case of them not rating the Irish challenge in this race much this year... they don't even have Cialos Emery in their market for the race.

I'd say that price reflects the fact the Irish challenge is a relative unknown. We haven't see Mengli Khan, Cilaos Emery or Getabird over fences yet and you would assume those are the 'big three'.

They didn't have Footpad quoted before his chase debut either

While I'm pretty sure there will be a strong enough Irish challenge, it's fair to say it's probably going to need to be if Lalor is to improve for the run.

On the face of it, Lalor isn't getting the credit he deserves, probably due to 'unfashionable' connections? And we just assume that Mullins will have a better one?

Is this priced up anywhere Scooby, I noticed it couple of weeks ago when it was entered up previously and thought it was interesting, plenty of experience already in France and he's entered it in a handicap at newbury friday and been allotted 136.
