RSA Chase 2018

We'll be leaning towards the RSA on normal Cheltenham Festival ground. That would be our preference. But if it happened to come up soft or heavy maybe we would start looking at the JLT a little bit more."

Looks like Elegant Escape is coming here... I haven't seen any news but cut almost everywhere on OddsChecker and drifitng on Betfair Exchanges for the 4 miler. Not to a massive price but perhaps some news coming....

I'd be dissapointed if he switched to the 4 miler. They've always said rsa and I can fully see why.
I know a few very shrewd judges (owner/ bookmaker) who are on big ew at 20s without nrnb for the rsa.

Looks that way given the blue on oddschecker. He's going to be my second arrow.
 
Not so bothered now, have him at nice prices for this and with the other two I've backed at decent odds for the 4 miler (Rathvinden and No comment) attracting support, hoping for a run for my money by all 3
 
Backed Black Corton.... horse appears to be improving still. Toyed with his opposite at Ascot LTO, could have won even further if they went at a stronger gallop. Didn’t have to that day... save the horse for another day - the RSA

This horse is in danger of making me look very stupid. Couple of mates who are both novices to racing really and only got into it in the last 2 years have been praising this fella most of the season and they have backed it for Cheltenham. Every time it wins I get excitable texts from them and every time I play it down and tell them I can't have it winning come March.
Bit of a dilemma now, would like it to win for them as they are on at 14/1, but kinda want it not to win too as I'm gonna get some stick!

I still cant see it though. I took this view on Unowwhatimeaharry last season and came out on top on the day, so im sticking to my guns on Black Corton not being good enough on the day.

THe confidence he seems to have in this horse has made sit up and take notice for days now.

I'm so pleased he's coming here.

Haven’t got Dounikos covered, but with this news I was happy to make him a play even at the odds if I saw him as a potential winner. I just don’t see what substance there is to his form to make him a winner of what is an increasingly tough and competitive race? It is all based on a running on 4th in the Flogas, which was eye catching but no more than that. If that race had been run over 3 miles I’d be convinced that once they got racing the result would have been the same, the other three (of which two are probably likely to reoppose) finishing in front of him.

Over hurdles he was a decent handicapper at best, the likes of Monalee and even Presenting Percy bring far better consistent form over both hurdles and fences to the table. Happy to be proved wrong and take it on the chin but just can’t see him winning. He’d have to improve on everything he’s shown so far, and didn’t improve for the trip at all over hurdles

Hurdles has no bearing. He's come alive for a fence the job he was bought to do. Your massively under rating the flogas imo and the way it was ran. His flogas run was brilliant hes improved with each run, he deffinately will for the trip, He's now running in the correct race. I'm very happy with that. No excuses for him and alboum photo they have rsa written all over them imo. And I'm very happy to back my own judgement on the pair. Leading chances for me.

Agree to disagree on this race. Al Boum Photo not a stayer for me, Dounikos not quite good enough. Wouldn’t be surprised at all to still see Al Boum Photo in the JLT (especially if rain comes on the thursday). I missed Elliott saying Shattered Love now goes JLT

Not much of a surprise when the trainer, who has Apple's Jade and Samcro amongst others, NAP's it for the festival.

I'm not one to ignore a trainers positive comments, so have added 2pts e/way @ 14/1 before SkyBet cut him.
