Arkle 2019

experience won the day LR was having his forth race ,against lesser experienced horses. LR however was brilliant , MK was ridden to far of pace for me , still time to March to gain more experience.

laid Kalashnikovs today, dont rate the horse in this sphere ... currently ran in 2 weak races and this is the first true test, if he wins I will certainly be then laying him for the arkle

Can you lay me 6/1 i seem to of layed him at that price and wouldnt mind getting out of it lol

The Arkle is all over the place now, Lalor, Mengli and now Kalashnikov all beaten. Lalor should be clear favourite at the moment as he does have course form. But I really do not know who will be winning this now. The form is all over the shop.

This will be unpopular, but I'd love Kalashnikov to get beaten today.

Missed the prices (as I fancied him for the JLT) and I already consider him too short, if he wins today I don't think his price will ever relent.

Merry Christmas mate

Can't have Kalashnikov in this - particularly with that jockey. The camera shot from behind of the two running down to 2 out was telling - Cobden in a lovely rhythm and Quinlan bouncing about all over the gaff. Still like the course form of Lalor but after that display yesterday I think Le Richbourg is the best I've seen so far.

Go back in on CE...

On the basis that:
a) You often need a good 2 1/2 miler to won this,
b) Henderson likes to target this race but has few options this year, and
c) He is likely to be running over fences for the first time in the coming days

is now a good time to take the 20/1 about On The Blind Side?

Of course, the JLT may be the chosen race (he's 20/1 for that as well) but, as said, there is no stand out in this race and I would taken his unproven chasing ability over the ones, shorter in the betting, who have shown their limitations.

No love for Dynamite Dollars at his current price?

He's 8/1 - having beaten the 7/1 joint favourites both fair and square last time out?

I've not backed him, just a general wondering...

This is something I've noticed now that I've actually spent some time looking at the race card for this, normally it's dominated by a beast of a horse (Douvan, Sprinter, Altor, UDS), and normally ran with only a handful of runners. For me this meant that the pace of these races were normally great, and unusually at the festival the pace of this race starts weak and ends up in a bit of a sprint. That's just opinion....

We dont have a Monster in this race... we have several decent animals who have shown some form when they have had their conditions. Which means this race is wide open, which may yield a large than normal field for this race - hopefully we get 10+ horses turn up.

If this is the case, then I'd be waiting a quick 2m4f horse for this.

There's one horse whom I was looking forward to but unseated his rider first time out over fences, and then went on a mad journey back over hurdles...

That horse is Vision Des Flos

I wont go into details, but I think this horse is a solid 2 milers. Ever since his wind op he's been able to show us what he can do. I think 140's on the exchanges is well worth the risk. I may not get a run for my money, but hey yo, not much can be lost on a 140 shot right?

*I hope someone doesnt reply back saying the horse is going 5 milers or has grown a 5th leg and us no longer allowed to run under rule*

Well opatcho, I backed VDF at 22/1 any race, and I'm hoping he runs here as it's one of the only shots he'd have to win a race...

So 140/1, fill yer boots. (As long as your boots only hold around £5).

I have yet to see anything that would put me off staying loyal to Lalor in this...I have always felt he is a much better horse in the spring and I am confident he will show his last run to be all wrong.

I’m still chipping away at CE on the exchanges at around 25’s, still hoping we haven’t seen the winner of this yet

Thinks the winner has already been out but with everything getting beat i wouldnt like to call it.

Anyone know when naas entries out. Waiting for the 2m novice chase

What is the latest we could see Cilaos Emery out and still see him as a realistic challenger for this?

I'd want to see him out before the middle of this month and then on to the Dublin Racing Festival at the beginning of Feb.

There's a beginners chase at Fairyhouse on 12th Jan won by Saturnas last year. That gives them 3 weeks to the Irish Arkle.

Anything later than that and I don't know what the plan would be, but it would certainly look less than ideal.

I don’t understand what Mullins is playing at, half the season has passed him by and most of his novices haven’t been seen. Yes I know the ground hasn’t been soft enough but surely he can find somewhere to run them even if it means travelling with a bunch of them to England. Novices need experience, the next problem will be snow then they won’t be ready for Cheltenham
