Arkle 2019

The one I expect to improve tomorrow is Pingshou.

11/1 is fair for tomorrow and would be my e/way play.

Diakali should set it up for the closers as he will likely tear off out in front. If they can't reel him in we won't be looking at the Arkle winner that's for sure.

I think the better pace will play to Pingshou's strengths and he almost certainly needed that run after 572 days off the track.

I'm hoping for an improved display from Pingshou tomorrow should improve from his first run for 18 months and the fact they've pitched him in another strong race instead of finding an easy novice chase is hopefully a sign he's showing a lot in training.

Couldn't agree more and you just beat me to the punch.

Lightening dosent strike twice :)
Highway one o one on this ground is half decent.

If lalor is the horse people think he is .this is a no contest. Needs to be winning this hard held to have a chance of winning the arkle.

I wouldn't have him for the Arkle even if he somehow managed a win tomorrow. Certainly not as keen on him as DDS today, but at the prices he is the direction I'm looking.

I see there are some worries if it turns heavy from lalors camp, just rewatched the last race and still impressed with the manner of the victory. Definitely think pingshou will get closer although noticed he has only ran on soft once, could be a tough ask with the horse still coming back from a big absence if the ground ctoninues to get worse.

I’m there tomorrow so hopefully will see an exciting race

I don't like Pingshou.

At the start of each festival, my phone is beeping with texts from "once-a-year" friends that ask me for Cheltenham tips :highly_amused:.

Pingshou 50/1 - Good name (Funny and sounds a bit like Pingu), good colours (easy to spot), decent trainera nd mjuch more seriously, form to say he could be involved at a price - COmbined with the fact you're loathed to tip up 'Melon' who was obviously the one I was keenest on but you can't tip a fav to your mates or tell them you're on at 20/1 when he's a short priced fav..... so the reply goes "Pingshou should out run his odds. Back him each way"

His SP was only 25/1 but I'm sure he was bigger that morning... anyway, we all know he came nowhere. The winner being an outsider himself didn't help.

That is all fine, it isn't like I was getting any abuse but the injustice is that he bolts up at Aintree in the Grade 1 on his next start, (without me backing him!!!!) nobody any the wiser that the tip was probably pretty good and could have won everyone a good few quid.

I thought I'd try and get back on speaking terms with Pingu, so I backed him for the Champion Hurdle the next season trying to rekindle our relationship.... ruled out within a week of me placing the bet

Chances of him ruining chances of my 33/1 shot tomorrow? Higher than you'd think :very_drunk:

More Voix Du Reve form today as Hardline wins in Ireland.

That one was stuffed by VDR.

Also more encouraging on lines through Ornua today who stuffed Lalor but beat by DD.

We can safely say the chelt form was worth nothing. How he was made fav I'll never know.
Ornua is bang average.

Bubble....burst!

Wouldn't surprise me if they miss the festival now in favour of Aintree.

Is that Lalor's true running? Surely not.

Easy for them to swerve the Arkle now though, if they were in two minds in the first place.

It definitely muddles the form for the brits, although I'd say the cheltenham form is probably worth more than today,
as it was at cheltenham and on normal cheltenham ground.
But today has put me off all the horses invloved, for now.

Defi DS is probably my only interest now (at the prices) but that still needs to be a better jumper and may go for the JLT, as at the moment in a strongly run arkle his jumping might cost him.

Kalashnikov jumps to the front of market again without facing any serious opposition yet, but has the festival form.

Irish are mostly still in the shed. Which is a concern as if they come out now and have an 'Eldorado', theyre fucked.

Never looked comfortable from the first fence when Pingshou made the error in front of him.

Interesting what they do now, but I suspect the Arkle may be swerved.

He actually jumped well enough but looked flat - it’s an open division

As someone on Lalor at a bigger price today was obviously disappointing. RJ blamed the ground

I wouldn't be totally writing off Lalor after today as I have always been of the opinion that he is a much better horse in the spring. The positive from today was that his jumping was every bit as good as it has always been...he hated the ground (no great surprise to me).

I was there today and I certainly didn’t think his jumping was anywhere near as good as the performance at cheltenham
