Albert Bartlett Novice Hurdle 2018

I think he'll still end up in the potato race having thought about it. Winners of the Ballymore are usually speed horses (Faugheen, TNO, Peddlers Cross are recent examples) and things will probably happen far too quick for him in the Ballymore.

He looked to get outpaced briefly at Cheltenham in November and if he does that on spring ground in the Ballymore it'd probably be race over.

I wouldn't rip up your tickets just yet, nothing is certain (even with Hendo) until last minute decs.

I had a ap bet on Consul Du Thaix at 250/1 for Neptune back in March and recall Hendo saying Triumph for weeks, so I basically ripped up the ticket thinking he was a nr. 48 hr decs and he runs in Neptune 16/1, but sadly fell.

Bang on there F_M!

Neptune is also run at a hectic 2 and 1/2. OTBS would have to rely on his speed and stamina to peg back any WM or Elliot speed hot pots, where the AB looks more to suit

Despite being very taken by him, I hadn't backed OTBS yet, waited like a few on here for him to cross the line today and go in. So Henderson's update is a bit of a sickener.

Am I right in thinking Bob's Worth in 2011 was heavily fancied to run in the Neptune even at the start of the festival week only to have a last minute switch to the Albert Bartlett? So you never know...but it looks pretty bleak on any AB bets.

very nice performance from OTBS today. Conversely WM was very disappointing. Im happy with my OTBS ticket for the potato race. Cant see him going Ballymore.

I really really really really Hope your'e right Doc. !!

I had a decent lump of OTBS today so was delighted with his performance, but I have a bigger interest for the potato race and as soon as Nico accelerated between the last two flights I immediately thought he has the speed for a Neptune, and Hendos comments after made my heart sink.
I think he could win either, but I am convinced the horse has RSA/Gold Cup written all over him so still harbour hopes the potato race is the way forward....

Looks ballymore at the moment but could end up going either. So I'm still glad I covered for the bartlett. If he wins his next start he'll deffinately go ballymore but he could meet if the cap fits etc.. In the challow before that. For my own book I'd rather he went bartlett to be honest. Henderson loaths going up in trip until you physically have no other choice.

Have to think running OTBS today over that trip means they are leaning towards Neptune for him. Could turn out to be some spectacle going at it with Samcro come March :) Both look right out the top drawer!

I reckon your'e right there scooby , probably depends on the next race and also maybe what Samcro does next , as you say
why step up in trip unnecessarily. Any idea what prices O.t.b.s is for the ballymore ?.
hadn't seen any yet.

Was 12's last night BC - I think 10s bet price now

Pop Rockstar looked quite good then. Might need the ground though?

looking forward to watching Monkshood today 1.50 Cork with this race in mind.

Good form boost for cracking smart there. I wouldn't get carried away with fabulous sagas victory looked a weak race.

White Moon found to be lame after his poor Sandown showing on Friday.

I am sure we all agree that yesterday's Cork race was a bit of a shambles on that ground and not too much can be taken from it regarding March.

Looking ahead to Cheltenham this Saturday, Cracking Smart has an entry in the old Bristol Novices at Cheltenham, in fact Elliot and Giggi have 5 entered, 2 of which ran yesterday (no chance they will be running again so soon after that slog)

Surprised if we see Cracking Smart over for this but exciting all the same
