Albert Bartlett Novice Hurdle 2018

10/1 Cracking Smart really looks a good price doesn't it.

Cracking Smart 10/1 best price with Ladbrokes. A price boost for me 11/1.

1.5 pts Cracking Smart 11/1
1pt Samcro / Cracking Smart double 34.75/1.

Im pretty confident I've got that double. I'm hoping my eyes back it up!

The runner-up was returned a 9/4 chance under Paul Townend for*Willie Mullins, while his stable mate*Fabulous Saga*was third.

Davy Condon, assistant trainer to*Gordon Elliott, said afterwards: "Whatever he does this year will be a bonus because he is a real chaser for next year. Like all horses Eddie (O'Leary) buys for Gigginstown he'll have natural progression over hurdles and is your ideal model for chasing.

"Jack said he is still a big baby and took plenty of grabbing a hold of him and said he is really a horse for next year. I doubt Gordon will overdo him over hurdles this year and will mind him away but is one to look forward to."

Won well but quotes would be enough to put me off at this stage. That would be the best 3 mile performer iv seen so far this season. Long way yet.

This quote put me off at 25-1 so I can't back CS at 10-1 now...

As far as I'm aware he's only ever been 14s since he was introduced . Then boyles pushd him out to 20s after his defeat last time. I backed at 14s straight after this race today.
They've sent him to war a few times now so I'd be assuming it's all systems go. Id put him away until the festival personally and freshen him up. There would be a small chance they think he's done enough this season but you'd have thought the Albert Bartlett is staring you in the face. He's better than all the horses around fabulous saga so i'd be looking at the likes of poetic rhythym ....as the danger, poss getabird who'd need a couple of runs first and obviously needs to step up from a nothing race.

The AB has a history of destroying horses. Maybe Giggy might mind a few this year?

Interested to see Cracking Smart run again today.

Really strong staying type, hoping he relishes this step up to 3m.

Plenty of 25-1 available. It's only Elliott's possible reluctance to have runners in this race which puts me off.

He was 25-1.

Yeah, he was 25/1 when Johnny Ward ( I think it was him) put him up on the FFP.

I listen to the ffp. And I'm sure he was 14s. Because I went and had a look at the market where he was fav. Johnny ward put him up after his run where he beat fabulous saga. He wasn't quoted before that.

Ive got 25s in a couple of multiples and a single
Might be a bookie you can't get on with?

Oddschecker showing that Sky were the only bookies offering 25/1 at any point, and that was until the 5th November.

Could be wrong, but the best price anywhere else looks to have been 16s.

That makes sense. I deffinately would have backed him after that races even with the quotes at 25s but that 25s was immediately before his race beating fabulous saga by them dates.
I could only personally get 14s and even at 16s wasn't worth the risk at the time.

He was 25-1. And was generally available on the 5th pre race or I wouldn't have posted it.

Anyway, the point was he is far from a certain runner based on comments. I think DD has put Elliott off this race.

A big player if her turns up though of course.

Johnny ward diddnt put it up on the pod pre race though and obviously the quotes which put myelf and others off, were post race.

If I'm wrong I'll apologise but I'm pretty sure. :)

You'd have to think theyd be very tempted, he looks the ideal type and theyve gone well past minding him

The price history on oddschecker is faulty at the moment for some reason Scooby. I was using it to look back at prices the other day and it didn't tally up. Cause of Causes was introduced at 5/1 with bet365 for the XC according to their site, but he was double that.

I dunno, dosent make any difference to his chance of winning this race anyway.

And he has a good one at that.

We are all correct, for the sake of the thread. :highly_amused:
