Albert Bartlett 2020

Don't understand why 20/1 is still freely available on Fury Road. For me, the way he travels and jumps he looks tailor made for this and clearly he is held in high regard in view of his lofty future entries. EA Supreme, Shawshank Ballymore and Fury Road Albert looks to be the way things will pan out.

Ignoring abacadabras for any reason in particular?

FWIW I'd have it.

Abacadabras supreme
Envoi allen ballymore
Fury road Albert bartlett

Andy dufresne wherever JP wants him to slot in.

(I do think AD is massively over rated though and has achieved very little)

Not ignoring him, I've got him in Supreme. However, if EA beats him in R Bond then EA, with the presence of Shawshank in the Ballymore, will go Supreme.

P.S. not sure connections would agree with you on AD and nor do I but I respect your view.

Cant have that at all, AD dictating where envoi Allen goes. The former imo is a considerably better horse than the latter, it's not the way it works.

The best horse at the trip, dosent get shipped off, to hope the one who's achieved less can step up in his place.

Imo Theres very little doubt, that whatever envoi does on sat, he'll be better over 2 1/2.

Its factually correct that EA only started at 2m because keith Donohue advised that he's quick enough for it,
gordon wanted to run over 2m6.

he's hoping hes good enough to win the royal bond beforehand, regardless of that fact

Perfectly summed up Scooby.

I'm absolutely not saying EA race is dictated by where AD goes. Think that EA surprised Gordon and co by the speed he showed first time up which is why they are seriously looking at the Supreme for him now knowing that they will have a very good substitute for the Ballymore in AD. Gordon would love to win the Churdle as was shown last year with Samcro and I think he could have the 2021 winner in EA.......but let's not get too far ahead of ourselves!

Just to say that I'm just debating, and have no issue with your own opinion.

But,
Who has said they're seriously looking at the supreme for EA ?

Hes quick enough to run over 2m dosent mean that hes going for the supreme. And wont be better over further.

Interesting you think AD is over rated and has achieved very little...

Golden Spread isn't a bad bumper horse he murdered. Beat Mt Leinster and sizing pottsie.

Cobbler's Way- beat La Tektor with ease who has decent maiden hurdle runs and now 128..Dinny Lacey also won a bumper next time out + ran a decent debut over hurdles.

Considering he hammered the two of them i don't think his form from only 2 runs is bad at all.

Hes massively over rated right now, what hes achieved in comparison to a standard needed to win the ballymore is nowhere near to date. He has time to go up to that level, (but I personally don't believe he will)
Yet hes both priced up and talked about as a brilliant horse who's already at that level. I think time will tell that his maiden hurdle was of a poor standard in relation to a grade 1 festival race. His time was slow, And when he meets the ones that will be contesting the finish of the supreme/ ballymore, I believe he'll be found out.

Only going by trainer/jockey comments after his hurdling debut about the pace he showed and not needing to go up in trip anytime soon. The Royal Bond will tell us more as he is taking on some speedy looking types.

Agree with all of this!

AD’s clock time wasn’t much cop.

If we all went by the clock we would all be in the poor house. Sometimes you do need to respect the way they look, travel, jump and put the race to bed. You can only ever beat what's put Infront of you. You don't just have to break track records to be a top class horse.

The only time of the day that was slower than standard. Everything else was considerably quicker than standard.
If you watch him visually, he was well in controll of what I believe to be a poor field in relation to grade 1s. Which makes him look good, But he was ridden out, to achieve little, and a poor time.
Its forgivable if he was on the bit, but He diddnt have a ton under the bonnet imo.

Hes priced like hes achieved a hell of alot there.

He's priced badly i have no issue with that, but i don't think the maiden hurdle he ran in is that bad myself tbh. Its a maiden hurdle, of course he's not at the standard yet to win a Ballymore. None of them are.

Again, agree.

I’m certainly no timeform addict, but it’s a valuable element to consider. As we all know, there are lots of perspectives and you’d be unwise to ignore any. Given I don’t profess to be a “horseman” i’m Always wary about going on pure visual look.

It's a bit of a risky/guessing game which of the maiden winners are going to end up the better horses, and at what trip.
Someone might be right, but probably more by chance (given the choices available), than anything. As there have been some impressive looking winners.
But The form-lines just aren't really there (in the main), and the races are rarely ran at real championship pace.
Pinning your colours is a dangerous game at this stage.

Gordon appears to have a fair few at this stage, but these could easily thin out as some of them slowly get found out. It's just being on the right ones that's trickiest, and then the right race.

You'll look back at these discussions in March, after it's done and wonder what the fuck we were talking about most if the time.
The same happened last year.

Envoi Allen looks solid enough, based on what he's achieved and the bumper form is looking decent, so those in behind might be decent, but the rest we just cannot be sure about yet. He does look like he may have at least a couple for each race at this stage though.

It's an educated guessing game.
