Aintree meeting Day One - 2023

Banbridge single

And with
Scriptwriter &
Third Time Lucki in a Trixie for today.

And a double with Fakir tomorrow.

Even without Bravesmangame I still can't see much value in the bowl. Can make a solid case for most. Hopefully be good viewing though.

If I was to have a bet outside the National it would be on Grey Diamond. Fancied him big time for Grand Annual but balloted. Won on his very next outing and I reckon more to come.

Lucinda's in the Sefton will run really well too. Hers always do in that race.

Free bet with 365 for tomorrow if you have abet today if anyone hasn’t noticed yet :encouragement:

Picks for today:

Double - Banbridge, Zenta 4.5/1 1P

Single - Magic Saint 12/1 1P

Double - Third Time Lucki, July Flower (place, 5 places) 3.3/1 1P (Betfair offer)

Don't fancy too much else to be honest. Bowl is a no bet race, too many ifs buts and maybes, just hoping for a cracker.

Race picks:
1. NB
2. Zenta
3. Ahoy Senor
4. Hill by 8L
5. Fier Jaguen
6. NB
7. Jolie Couer Allen

low stake fun multi:
Zenta, Shiskin, Jolie Couer Allen all by 3L &
CH by 10L

Have all bets been refunded on Bravemansgame??

I think Banbridge won with a little in hand there. The ground looked excellent, no turf coming out at all. Suspect closer to Good than Soft. Stage Star didn't turn up - IGNORE CHELTENHAM WINNERS (hopefully with exception of Conny Hill)!!

As does Zenta. She was cruising and I suspect would beat Bo Zenith by a good few lengths on another day.

I was only able to watch out of the corner of my eye whilst on a Zoom call. What makes you say she'd have beaten BZ further on another day?

Backing Ahoy Senor is not good for the heart

I think she got to the front too early and used too much petrol going for a gap, which stopped her pulling away and she was then in a scrap. Suspect if Walsh had waited for the gap rather than go for it when he did, Zenta would have still be on the bridle after the last. I did watch it back and to be fair, BZ did battle really well once passed - so maybe I am being unfair on BZ - who to be fair, looked good.

Nice start Craigy ! , well done keep it up mate ... :encouragement: .

Not sure how much CH had left there. I'd be against him being a GC horse for now anyway.
