Aintree 2025 Day 2

Ahh he did indeed, he was entered for the other one though, wasn't he :hopelessness:

I thought we all knew about giving Cobden an easy lead. Been doing it at least a couple of seasons now if not longer. Johnny Dineen mentions it at least 3 times an episode of Upping The Ante too :highly_amused:

Dont think I've ever watched an episode mate, but yeah Cobden has been showing himself to be adept from the front for a few seasons now, suppose its a case of if the horse is good enough when he does it.

We’ll never know but I think the likely winner didn’t finish the race as the second nearly got to potter and he came from much further back after a big error 3/4 way round or so.

I think it'll be Ryanair.
But do you not think he idled.
Clearly he was tired at the end but i reckon if anything the better ones that got in trouble wouldve helped him through the race?

I had a great day on course yesterday - no better place to be when the sun is out! Banged in 5 winners out of 7 too. Lost on the Bowl and Foxhunters.

It looks very tough so I haven't got too carried away.....
1.45 Dancing City 7/1 ew, Stellar Story 17/2 ew
2.20 Wellington Arch 18/1ew. Western walk 30.0
2.55 Romeo Coolio 2.86
3.30 No bet
4.05 James Du Berlais 16/1 and 15.5, Eldorado Allen 28/1, King of PRS 42.0, Bad 20/1 ew.
4.40 Battle Born Lad 8.6 (might add Lucinda's two on exchange too)
5.15 Washington 36.0, Manulito 36.0

Place pot and a couple of yankees too.

good luck all

cracking ride in wellington arch, kicked on perfectly! Well done

Salvator Mundi walks terribly, either lame behind or has very slight stringhalt (Usually this is when they go and put in a lifetime best to make me look a right plonker).

Edit - As sure as night follows day :biggrin-new:

That's more like it from Salvator Mundi!

He's an Arkle player based on that. Them 50's were a little too big!

….you called it, travelled so strong and quickened well. Would’ve been all over Romeo, but for Gordon’s horrific form (doesn’t bode well for my duffle coat fancy tomorrow)….left mundi alone :frown-new:

I really hope they adopt 'from the front' tactics for Salvator Mundi. He'd be my bet of the day if they do.

Well it wasn't quite 'from the front' but he was a lot more prominent, travelled sweetly and made more use of his stamina.

Very good from him.

Beat Romeo a similar distance to that of what Kopek did too.

Paul saying Cheltenham didn't suit Salvator Mundi so they could potentially skip it next year if they think they've got races covered with others.

Pure class from him today. Actually settled, still didn't jump great but got a great engine.

Looking at his run in the Triumph and Supreme that would back it up. Could say it was the hood for the supreme or other factors. Buttwo poor runs at Cheltenham.

Somewhere Patrick Mullins is rocking backing and forth whispering "but I settle horses the best"

Yup, Romeo in the Browning, The Yellow Clay Arkle would be my early shout.

Is the yellow clay quick enough for 2 miles? I’m not sure unless it was bottomless ground. The BA chase could be a corker this year!!

I'd have them the other way round myself, just think todays track on that ground was a bit too quick for RC.
At least ordon has 2 of interest already for next seasons novice chases.

Edit - Gordon....ordon is another fella who has fuck all for next seasons novice races.

IF Jonbon goes to Cheltenham next year then it’s the Champ Chase or nothing - no way he gets 2m 5f Ryanair

Also AP very passionate about him having speed and needing to be sent out in front in a race - he will be an ear worm in Frank and JP’s ears methinks :excitement:
