Poor day yesterday, Nico given a race riding masterclass by Townend unfortunately for my bets! Hoping for better today:

13:45 handstands
14:20 be aware, western walk
14:55 romeo coolio
16:05 bad, ginny’s destiny, james du berlais
16:40 califet en vol
17:15 hamsiyann ,alnilam

And romeo coolio, jonbon double.

Well that didn't tell us anything really, what with Dancing City hitting the deck and bringing down QDB. He also hampered Handstands.

Caldwell Potter done it well but ultimately only beat a horse he beat at Cheltenham anyway.

Not convinced he's a 3m2 horse, but jeez he can jump. Magic at the last.

2 out of 2 at the big festivals now.
I'd say by the reaction of connections he's paying back what he cost in memories to cherish.
Well done Nicholls, owners, jockey and caldwell potter.

I thought Dancing City was travelling like a dream until the fall

Yeah I'm pretty sure he'd have won if staying up

Back to normal today after yesterday

Caldwell jumped great again

looked like he was on fumes the last 100 yards that jump at the last won it for him

Jordans ran in the Plate CoD :)
All I learnt today was don't give Cobden an easy lead on chasers.

Ahh he did indeed, he was entered for the other one though, wasn't he :hopelessness:

I thought we all knew about giving Cobden an easy lead. Been doing it at least a couple of seasons now if not longer. Johnny Dineen mentions it at least 3 times an episode of Upping The Ante too :highly_amused:

….given your analysis of the race, I did a few WTAF bets to small stakes including 50-1 CP and Ryanair. Nice to have him in the book, even if my selection, Dancing City took that crashing fall when going well.

Handicapper might not do much to the winner so he’d be interesting for the big handicaps at Cheltenham in the autumn - then on to the Ryanair after that I’d imagine
