2026 Ultima Handicap

Harsh when compared to Myretown last year.
Jukebox kid also got 5lb whereas the winner of reynoldstown changing man last year got 2lb, and he won by a distance

Yep. Has he got another 10lb in hand off that mark? I'd he surprised if he did.
I doubt it, think I'd be pretty pissed off with the trainers if I was part of the owner's syndicate.

If you're building for a big spring festival win, Cheltenham or other, why risk the horse's mark in a 6 runner hack round Kelso on a Friday afternoon. They were playing Russian Roulette with the handicapper, almost taunting them - we did this with Myretown last year and then bolted up in the Ultima after you only gave us 4lbs - well guess what, we're doing it again this year. Same race, same type of unexposed staying novice, off a similar mark.

To be fair he did beat a horse 7lbs higher than him by nearly 9 lengths and the horse in third by nearly 20 lengths and won on the bridle and could have won by how far , good thing for us he might just be better than a good handicapper

I thought it was only McManus and Irish trained horses that get hit hard by the handicapper?

Clearly they saw giving 4lb last year to Myretown who then won off his new mark in the Ultima as too lenient in hindsight and won't make the same mistake again...

Have to fear for the Irish horses now and the English Tax being excessive. Need everything we can to boost our economy.

That was hilarious , paddy power pushed out Quebecois to 25/1 following the 2nd. Then reverted back to 16s again

…..trend analysis updated in post #1.

So myretown had a good sea of blue for a couple of days.
But I think I finally found one of my crackers for the whole festival. A race I've typically done well in...
Just seen in hobbs tour that imperial saint might be taking the ultima on!
Over the moon.. And think he's going to get some big wins next year!

20/1 Imperial saint!!

Will get more satisfaction of that winning than my 100/1 on spilanes tower!

….bit of support for this one, 365 cut to 18s probably from the stable tour;

In D’Or
Ultima Handicap Chase, 25-1
Rosconn Group Fulke Walwyn Kim Muir Handicap Chase, 16-1
He could be an interesting one. We were going to run him at Ascot last weekend but the ground was going to be too soft. He hasn’t won for us yet but his two runs have been very good and we’re thinking about the Ultima.

On his last run behind The Jukebox kid and Montregard he must have a few lbs in hand. The former is now 12lbs higher and the latter 10lbs whereas he has only gone up 1lb. Glad they have given a steer as he was shorter for the Kim Muir.
