Entered again over hurdles this weekend at CarlisleCan't see Jingko Blue priced up for this.
Henderson said in stable tour about him having minor back surgery and resuming his chasing career,
But he has 2 hurdle entries this weekend, including the ascot hurdle.
same race lucky place won last year, who went on to go off 2nd fav in the stayers.
He's still only 6 and looks unexposed really, a bomb out in the ballymore hurdle when hendersons horses were giving up, and a fall when odds on to win the reynoldstown.
quite possibly improvement to come. should stay well enough and is bred lovely.
I would want at least 66-1 though, and might be better to back him if declared at the weekend I suppose.
10/1 PP now is a great e/w stab imo8/1 The Yellow Clay for the Christmas Hurdle at Leopardstown with Flutter looks decent, he’s been trimmed in by other firms today.
I took 9/1 on Monday e/w as I thought Ballyburn was far too short. Gordon is flying and I wouldn’t be surprised to see Teahupoo have another target & Honesty Policy in the Long Walk entries.
Today was only HP’s 6th run under rules. He’s still only a 5yr old. If he improves half as much as he did last year he’ll be bang there. There’s no new superstar emerged, though. The new boys need to step up to take the first and second from last year
True. I like him most from today’s race, but I wouldn’t take any of them as a stayers hurdle winner….. yetToday was only HP’s 6th run under rules. He’s still only a 5yr old. If he improves half as much as he did last year he’ll be bang there.
Of course not, but the market is a lot more balanced now after today. It may get another shake up next week too if The Yellow Clay has come out of Navan well. The outside track at Leopardstown will suit him if he’s on form.True. I like him most from today’s race, but I wouldn’t take any of them as a stayers hurdle winner….. yet
Absolutely. Pulled like a train the whole way and still stayed on well. Should improve NTO.Happy with that from honesty policy after taking the 16s pre race
Tanked around. Seemed to blow up then run on again.
Next time will tell us more.
Agree with this. Positives to take out of both horses. Impose Toi idles in front so hard to know how much more he has in the bag. Can see him swinging on the bridle turning in at Cheltenham, just how much does he still have in the bag? Honesty Policy should come on for the run, but think it is a season too early for him. Paisley Park won after 8 starts as a 7yo, Flooring Porter was a much more experienced 6yo when winning, same with Cole Harden. He could channel More Of That who won on just his 5th start but he was unbeaten in 4 starts and such a talent at a young age. Honesty Policy just looks like he still has plenty to learn.I think supporters of both JP’s horses can be happy with today’s race.
Impose underlined his credentials with another win - different running styles but reminiscent of the year Flooring Porter came out of handicap company and kept on notching up the wins before taking the Stayers.
Honesty Policy likely to come on from today’s run.
Can see both of them putting it up to Teahupoo in March and wouldn’t be at all surprised if one beat him.
Leaves Ballyburn as the contender with potentially the highest ceiling. His race at Xmas will be very informative, especially if the Yellow Clay lines up.
I actually thought he's quite professional. He's improved run by run and he's had plenty of runs at a high level now. I think tbh he just blew up for fitness and ran on again towards the finish. He will have been flattered a bit by Impose idling but being that close to him and Strong Leader giving fitness on his first open company run is nice enough imo.Agree with this. He was keen early on and jumped high at some of those early hurdles as well so will need to learn to settle better. It's not unreasonable to think it could just be freshness, though he was also a little keen early at Punchestown when last seen. Re-watching the finish again, commentator is right in that he was just a bit flat footed between the last two hurdles, which is where IT made his move and invariably won the race. You are right in your other post though. Considering they are both 8/1 then IT looks the better value of the pair albeit HP is still a contender if he can improve on this.I actually thought he's quite professional. Yeah I don't disagree, it can always be tough with a young horse as well when trying to work out whether keenness is due to being fresh, or being a naturally keen horse. I'd be inclined to say his keenness didn't cost him though, which is a good thing, as he was running on again at the end. If I had to bet, I'd say he just took a blow before getting second wind. I don't think Walsh was overly harsh either. Nice run for the future, wherever they choose to send him next.He was keen early on and jumped high at some of those early hurdles as well so will need to learn to settle better.
