2026 Stayers Hurdle

Be surprised if they didn't, great performance, think IT would've wanted better ground but even so, you'd have wanted him to be pushing Shantou not being pulled away from.
If they did go pertemps what would he be running off of now, 150+, be some effort but it has been done before.

Edit - Nico gave IT 2 after the last then went hands & heels, maybe Shantou was a little flattered in the final furlong as Ben was still giving it everything while Nico had eased off as he knew he wasn't winning by then.

Related form each way double Ma Shantou & Electric Mason 180-1 Ladbrokes.

Aye, better ground you see a better horse, in my opinion, of course who knows how the ground comes up in march.
I can see the better ground angle, but he’s travelled pretty well on that ground today and given every chance if good enough
Imo he’s not a true stayer at the level required

I’ve already backed ma shantou for the pertemps! He’s got to go here surely now after that
So have I, but trainer obviously loves the race, she ain’t going to duck the stayers

Could be right, long way from the last to the line to be holding onto one, even more so if there's not much there (harchibald springs to mind).

12-1 impose toi overreaction ?

Probably about right. Thought he might've been pushed further and I'd have been tempted. As was beaten well enough in the end.

Be fairly confident he'd reverse that form on decent ground. But I wouldn't be that confident it'll be decent ground here to be honest. So I can leave the 12s...

Lavelle basically confirmed Shantou for here after the race so wouldn't debate where he ends up. Very good performance today albeit not sure Impose got home on the ground.

Only two i can see threatening them are honesty policy, though im surprised and a bit dissapointed he didnt run in the galmoy. May be a season too soon for him.

And as much as i hate to say it, ballyburn if he wakes up on the right side of the bed. He ran absolutely no race last time. Was never going and beaten way before stamina came into play. All depends whether Dr Jekyll or Mr Hyde turn up at the track (if he runs)

If they ride Ballyburn like they did in the Hattons Grace rather than the Christmas Hurdle I can see him flying up that hill. The way he stayed on to the line in the Ballymore always suggested that would be the case too.

An enigma him , but can see a case of having him onside if price suits

Sure I read somewhere that HP is to run in the boyne hurdle the week after DRF. Hope so as could do with another run IMO.

Dont think it was the ride

He just didnt turn up at all

His pedigree suggests he should be better at 3 miles. So does as you say his hattons grace run.

Im on teahupoo, bob and honesty policy. Id be tempted to add ballyburn at 20s but id be concerned he may go to aintree instead like impaire et passe did.

I hope so. Definitely needs all the experience he can get and will need to improve a good bit from his first run to get to teahupoo and bob. Though with his profile and age that is very possible.
