2026 Ryanair Chase

Yeah Hendo sounded very keen to try and get the win at Cheltenham he feels Jonbon deserves. I’d say it’s more likely than not he turns up here.

I guess then JP has to decide if he wants to go double handed in the Ryanair with likely the front two in the market and rely on Spillane’s Tower / Inothewayurthinkin in Gold cup who would be biggish prices, or split and have the likely short priced second fav to Gaelic Warrior and the Gold Cup fav. At 9 years old it’s probably last chance saloon for F2F to win a gold cup really, not sure if that will come into JP’s thinking.

I think it really is simple as his recovery .
If Jonbon is showing them he’s recovered ok and they are happy with him, he will run at Cheltenham.
If not, he won’t.
The owner/representatives will know very well that a trainer is much better positioned to say that a horse hasn’t fully recovered than a horse has fully recovered. How many times have we heard trainers say something like he/she was showing all the right signs at home but you never really know until you get them on the track. Connections are knowledgeable enough to know this and to factor that into their decision. If I owned this horse after watching him dig really deep in his last two runs I’d be thinking this was far from simple.

Fair comments.
I would like to think that the amount of time they have had Jonbon, they will know the signs to look out for and the lad riding him out and closest to him will probably be key.
If he turns up in March, I would be confident he would run his race.

As a supporter of GW in the gold cup (and anybody that has been crazy enough to,pay any attention to my posts in the past will know how big of a back track that has been for me) …if Jonbon turns up at Cheltenham I will be desperate for him to run his race because if he does what I expect him to which is look laboured almost from the start the cat might be taking a bit of a kicking.

At this moment in time FTF is Ryanair with or without Jonbon. Let’s hope it stays that way and GW goes in the race he should do. If Jonbon is the reason GW goes Ryanair, my cat would have to watch out as well!!

I have not been following the Ch Ch betting re Jonbon. but noticed he has shortened for it. Does not make much sense unless JP wants to cover all bases.

Just come on to repeat what I've previously said.

Jonbon.

What a bloody horse!!!!

That is all.
100%.
One of the toughest, most talented, reliable and consistent UK horses ever.
Just a shame for him they let the Irish over every March....

Impaire Et Passe running here looks pivotal to the likes of Gaelic and F2F going Gold Cup to me.

Do we think he'll run? Will it be a late call ground wise?

This race is impossible to call ATM.

I'm thinking Jonbon, IEP and possibly Jagwar NRNB are the play but if F2F turns up then those bets would be wasted.

Better to wait for declarations maybe??

They seem keen on Aintree for IEP, which is why I think one of FTF or GW run here!

Prior to him running at the weekend, he was Aintree bound

If you haven't had a bet in the race yet

Just back both Gaelic Warrior (5/4) and Fact to File (Evs) NRNB

And you'll be sat on something that is either 4/6 or 1/2 on the day

Right now FTF has only one entry, so I would play it as if he’s a runner.
You have nrmb options and could wait until final decs, as I imagine FTF being supplemented is going to be discussed.

Not me. Wouldn't touch horses at those prices. Can see the logic though.

If I play it as if he's a runner then it's a no play from me.

“We would be hoping we could get him to Cheltenham and something like the Ryanair could be right up his street. There is then a month from Cheltenham to Aintree where he won last year and then a smaller gap to Punchestown, but those spring festivals are where we want him racing really.”

This was 5th February from DJ. Good ground important to him though.
