100%, exactly what was in my thinking....He needs the spin to qualify for hcp mar I think as it would then be his 5th. Might be a strong indicator that the Pertemos is his target !

Act Of Authority
Martin Pipe Handicap Hurdle, 33-1
He's set to run at Ascot on Saturday and then go back to the Martin Pipe, in which he was second last year. He loves the hustle and bustle of a big handicap. He might be exposed to a big improver again, but he really bumped into one last year [Wodhooh]. He's run well this season and he's in good form
Thanks for the heads up YH
These trainers change their minds like the ‘kin wind…….before it was that the extra trip to 3m of the Pertemps may extract some improvement from AoA……improvement that was thought needed to win off his current mark…….so going back to the same race where you’re rating is exposed seems counter to his earlier thoughts……I wonder what changed?
Same owner as Chasing Fire who is also qualified so maybe just a question of splitting them up.Thanks for the heads up YH

@YoungHustler has copied the trainer quote for everyone, saying the plan is to go back to the M Pipe, so if anyone has backed him in any other race and has the ability to cashout it makes sense to do so.Thats so funny i was about to msg the same thing! Is everyone cashing out Act of authority then for pertemps- even though hes running on sat ? Is anyone not cashing out ? Or is that quote about the martin pipe just how it is... interesting!
Nice one for heads up mate. I don’t have cash out option though….joys of ante postThose on at AP many want to cash.

E Mullins? The winner of this in my opinion runs at haydock at the weekend, provided he qualifies the JP chequebook will be out and price will plunge
Do you think he would need to win to get in ?The winner of this in my opinion runs at haydock at the weekend, provided he qualifies the JP chequebook will be out and price will plunge
Off his Irish rating it would be touch and go, bottom weight is currently 129, his current rating - if he was given any "tax" by the UK handicapper then he would probably be ok (a 2lb tax would take him up to no. 18 in the weights (24 run)). Two more qualifiers after Haydock.Do you think he would need to win to get in ?
Also, was expecting it to be a Paul Byrne horse when I seen the colours but it’s not
Good spot though

One thing to bear in mind that our working assumption at present is that the Elliott horse Staffordshire Knot runs. If he were not to then the weights would rise by approx 14lbs. This would change a lot of thinking about the qualifiers etc So far as I can see though Elliott is not using SK to compress the hcp (to favour one of his lower in the hcp) as it is his only qualifier unless I have missed it. So he may be running on his own merits in the belief that he is going to outclass this field (à la Sire du Berlais).129 is his BHA make. As it's for Haydock.
Think it's enough to get in to be honest, but a placed finish and an extra lb might be ideal.
Looks like the price has plunged already, HIlls introduced at 12/1 !The winner of this in my opinion runs at haydock at the weekend, provided he qualifies the JP chequebook will be out and price will plunge
Looks like the bloke who's been riding it every race is the owner. Interesting he gives the ride up now, they must mean business tomorrow!Do you think he would need to win to get in ?
