2026 Novice Hurdlers

Yeah I was impressed with my paddy so I do see your point in that regard, although not as impressed as OPS and Mossy. imo OPS looks the real deal, and Mossy jumped as well as I’ve ever seen a horse jump hurdles and kept up a strong gallop all the way to the line.
Could they do the same as Paddy did next time? Yes they could, but until they do or indeed don’t, I will stick.
I will also stick with my opinion that trained by WM he would be shorter and talked about a lot more.
There's a sound logical reason for this though. Willie has won 8 supremes, 6 in the last 15 years. Hendo has won 2 in that time tbf (you have to take him seriously for the race) but Skelton has won 0, and never even had a placed runner.

You'd rather back a Willie maiden winner than a Skelton one because there's simply a much higher probability that Willie will train the horse in the correct manner to win a supreme, no matter of the merits of form.

There's some flashy maiden winners that I completely ignore when punting the novice hurdle races, simply because of the trainer. Some might think it's quite narrow minded but it generally is rewarding

Hendo won 3 in the last 10 I think

That’s your way of punting though and it’s fair enough if it generally works for you.
I’m different, more flexible if you like, and I’m quite happy with that.

Proper form boost from the 1st race at Leopardstown with Saint Baco beating Lazare de Star @ Navan last month cosily

Would hope he will get a Lawlors/Moscow entry

Willie won first 2 maidens at Limerick.
The virus bullshit is over.

Both maidens actually look decent in terms of depth, including a rare form clue for the UK runners with the second in the last maiden finishing behind No Drama at Cheltenham.

Kaiser ball....bet Willie Mullins was glad to get rid of him, useless

Thought he ran ok to be honest. Horrible drift before the off so they weren’t expecting much. I’d be keen enough to be with him in his next maiden.

He ran okay, was keen the entire way.....but the talk of him as a grade 1 supreme horse has to be over

Taken the 50s for Jalon d'Oudairies for the Bartlett... Hopefully goes well today.

Took that as well. You’d not be too dispirited by that. He travelled so well, I thought he’d but then all away and he’d be Turners bound. But just didn’t quite get home. I wonder if fitness is a bit of an issue. Perhaps Gordon is brining him on a little slower.

Form boosts for Sortudo and Doctor Steinberg. Add in Your Proof and King Rasko Grey from yesterday, and Willie has a decent staying novice hurdle hand.

….Act of Innocence pushed out to 40-1 Supreme after that defeat.
