2026 Novice Hurdlers

Lawlors entries are in, both JP horses with WPM entered, along with Sortudo and Saint Baco.

Do we see that as an indication that Le Divin Enfant will be Xmas Grade 1 bound with one of the above? With 1 of JP’s as well, which leaves the other JP novice and Saint Baco or Sortudo for the Lawlors.

In terms of maidens or novice hurdles, can see Fou De Toi or Leader D’Allier in the 2m maiden, would the Doctor go for the 2m4f maiden following day that Jade won.

Le Divin Enfant is also in the Lawlors so I don't think much can be read into the entries alone. Interesting to see what he does run where though, as Sortudo has been talked up as a stayer but is current fav for the 2 mile race.

Aye noticed this after I had posted, as you say, nothing worth noting now :ROFLMAO:

You would think so. I imagine the 5yo maiden straight after Fou De Toi pisses up :ROFLMAO:

I just wondered if anyone had heard anything though. Usually they get entries leading up, but nothing for him.
The only thing I would say is ..
As an Owners Group member , the horses do seem to get a few entries , before actually being declared for a race . A Pain when it comes to applying for owners badges. ..
Not that I have managed to get one yet !!.

Old Park Star very impressive there.

Not a clue what plans are but imagine they'll keep him and Act Of Innocence apart, for the time being at least.

Impressive from Old Park Star there at Cheltenham. Not sure on the level of form but hard to argue it’s any worse than what Mydaddypaddy has produced so far. Given the trainer I’m surprised 16s for the supreme is widely available after that.

Nice problem for the owners to have, they've 2 very smart looking novices.

Owner has 2 smart youngsters, I'm thinking......

Supreme - Act Of Innocence

Turners - Old Park Star

Just had a few beers tokens to cover him in Turners
Also worth a little double maybe ?

Not sure what Hendo said on tv but in the parade ring he said he wouldnt be in a rush to step OPS up in trip after watching that. He did also say that he would try to keep the two apart.

Someone on Twitter said Hendo mentioned 2m5f at trials day next for OPS?

Nico had also mentioned about going out in trip.

Nico was ok with staying at 2m for now, suggested maybe going up in trip once the ground gets a bit quicker (IE springtime), think they was all caught out by how much OPS improved from the last day at Kempton so hadn't really given anything beyond today much thought.

Yeah, Hendo when asked about next races he did mention the race on trials day, and if he were to run well there the Turners would look the race for him imo.

They have also said Act of Innocence looks like a 2 miler.

So we shall see but right now imo it does look likely AOI supreme and OPS turners.

He didn’t say that when interviewed in the parade ring straight after the race. I think as has been mentioned he was a bit surprised by the performance. He said they thought it was a strong race beforehand so didn’t really know what to make of it. In terms of next race he first said about keeping apart from aoi and then said he would be in no rush to step him up having watched the performance.

To be honest I’m not sure that they know themselves yet and think they will wait to see the next performances of both horses.

Post race interview on RTV, Nicky said

Certainly feels like AOI is a 2miler. AOI likely go to the Formby or 2m Introductory hdle @ Newbury couple days after (sounded more like newbury iirc)

Said OPS could go trials day 2m5 next half a mile further, but didn't look like he needed it today

Try keep them apart for now

Nico said he could go another half mile
