2026 Novice Hurdlers

It's all going wrong for the hype horses today!

DDM a big disappointment, Leader D'Allier less so over 2m, and Mydaddypaddy not good enough now. Had every chance there.

Disappointing for sure
He’s a very good jumper so the missing hurdles probably did not help him, but just did not find much when asked at the business end.

MDP would've prefered to be jumping the last two, but he still found nowt off the bridle, not a trait you want in a Supreme horse, as it stands OPS should probably be fav but that could be all change before the new year.

Narciso has bolts in showing theres no big bug in the yard

Theyve just been leaving them too far short of fitness on debut to show how good they are?

LD and DDM did also look like they needed plenty further and/or softer ground

An age old debate but the low sun and hurdles omitted is a disgrace. Did they jump 4 or 5 there? It’s basically a bumper

I’m not writing of DDM, def not a supreme horse, but would be hopeful on softer ground and stripping a bit fitter

Enough time to plot him for the county now

The way he jumps and travels could see him running well

If the fall doesn't affect him, it will take a very good one to beat El Cairo. Looked very good.

I've no idea how many barns they have at Closutton but for me it'll be some barns are more forward than others, some are just a bit behind, but I am guessing tbh.

Its been all season though

They have pretty much all looked short of a gallop bar the established superstars

Just need Le Divin Enfant to get stuffed tomorrow now for my Sortudo supreme bet lol

Aye been most hasn’t it? Only ones of note are Saint Baco and Le Divin that have delivered. Love me tender and Davy probably ran early enough (summer/autumn) for it to be a problem.

Patrick has said that they barely had their younger horses working before November - apparently due to a flooded gallop. Said they are very behind. Pointed to the fact they’ve not got anything in the winners bumper. I’d be shocked if it wasn’t by design (forced or otherwise) that Willie’s novices are needing the run. Which makes me mark up a couple of winners of deep maidens significantly. Sortudo in particular.

Feels like anything thats run against anything half decent has lost

Very disappointing there from Mydaddypaddy. The sectionals will be interesting when they're available but the pace today looked slow and ended up with a sprint finish with Idaho Sun just quicker. I haven't totally given up on Paddy yet as would like to see him in a truly run race which the Supreme will hopefully give him. Note that Glance Of Midnight was beaten 28l today. Could Old Park Star have done the same if pushed out to the line LTO?

Muddling race with the missing hurdles. He was way too short for the Supreme on what he had done to date but he I still think he will go to the Supreme. You'd have to think the Irish will have one to beat him though.
