2026 Novice Hurdlers

So he doesn't want to overface a novice at this stage of the season, sounds like a sensible trainer to me, I mean you can undo all that early work by asking them to do too much too soon, maybe another race will bring him forward enough to go into Graded/Grade 1 company next time out, time will tell as maybe he wont be,or maybe he won't be good enough, strong enough this season for that kind of test.
Like many things in life there’s different ways of looking at things.
Some react to decisions a lot differently to others.
I can see your reasoning here and it makes perfect sense.
I can also understand peoples frustration in not getting what they want or feel they should get because of decisions made.
It’s all good discussion though.

Although as mentioned plenty of times by many of us.
If they had less options we’d get more competition through the season and this naturally improves both performance and the spectacle
The better the spectacle the more interest this creates
It’s not rocket science
It’s been going on for centuries
Roman emporers got fed up pretty quickly with one sided contests

….Dr Steinberg & Classical Creek not in the final decs for the 2m 7f Hd at Limerick that has proved a good historic pointer to AB. Maybe something else might emerge from the race.

I have no problem with what they choose to do
The comments are really to demonstrate to the disappointed people who thought he might declare for Aintree
The clues were there.
Aye I knew he wasn’t going to go, just wanted to vent :ROFLMAO: Especially when you see a 2m maiden in Ireland with ‘potentially’ 2 of the leading novices taking each other on. Yet we have Mr Henderson with his barrel of excuses to not race in a Grade 1.

As we all know there’s far too much racing in Britain, horses can dodge each other all season which just leads to small uncompetitive fields. No wonder the Irish wipe the floor with the UK at Cheltenham these days, their horses are proper hardened when it comes to the festival.

That’s disappointing Eggs. I like them both and wanted to see a good run. Will have to have a look in more detail at that race

…W Mullins;

Leader
A nice prospect from France who seems a sharp type. He has good form having won on the flat five times and he jumps well. In fact he’s a horse that does everything nicely. I’m looking forward to seeing him out.

DDM
He won a Cork bumper that is working out well and is by Doctor Dino. He jumps well and he should be capable of giving a good account of himself against some smart opposition.

When he says a ‘sharp’ type, do you think he means a two mile horse?

Lots of confidence it seems in the betting re Ionian

Anyone backed this Ionion for Hendo/Buckley for the supreme? Favourite at kempton tomorrow in the race where altior broke his maiden

No but I've been waiting on a unnamed one of Buckleys, by Blue Bresil out of Exchanged Moment, apparently the yard have been very impressed by what its shown at home, At first I thought Ionian might be him but then checked the dam.

I reckon Lobos has. He keeps slipping it into conversation the way you try to avoid mentioning your ex's name to your current partner :ROFLMAO:

Hopefully Ionian bolts up! Should win this if any good. Others don't look up to much.

Just mind that Heron In The Park, the way it won its bumper at Newbury was in the style of a good animal, seems to be something amiss in the last 2 races, they'll figure it out eventually then he'll go in somewhere at a big price.

Looking forward to seeing doctor du mesnil tomorrow.

Watched his bumper run yesterday again and he wemt from the rear to the front without breaking sweat extremely quickly.

Looks a big galloper but also with a turn of foot.

Can see tomorrow against Elliott's catching him out first run of the season, being slightly too sharp a test. Ballyburn vs Firefox a similar example

Very interested to see how El Cairos performs today.
Backed him for the Bumper, and would have been much closer imo had he been ridden by a pro.
Have taken prices for Turners and AB, and a little on today and any race.

Basically a no lose race for me unless something ridiculous happens. Have backed El Cairos and Doctor Du Mesnil for the Supreme and Doctor Du Mesnil for the Turners so whatever happens (within reason) today I should be in a position to get El Cairos on board for the turners at a decent price if required. Sounds as though Mullins is expecting a win today though so he must be ready to go. A lot will become clearer after today's racing and a lot of head scratching aswel no doubt  I have a kitchen full of alcohol and my mate is coming round with his bullish ways thinking he can out punt me. Not a chance
