2026 Novice Hurdlers

Got Jalon onside prior to the DRF, the bumper form stacks, his two hurdle starts he has needed further (looked slow :D ), was worth a very small investment in a race thats known for throwing one up at a price.

Problem I'd have with Jalon is I don't really get why it's a foregone conclusion he'll be best at 3 miles.
100-1 though so can see why some would have an interest.

Oh its very speculative, I was expecting a decent run at the DRF to give me something to hang a fuller opinion on, as it is I get a 2m2f trot in a bog which'll tell me very little, whatever happens I'd be happy with a run but I wouldn't be certain of it.

Without that dreadful Sandown run, Sober Glory would be unbeaten and single figures for the Supreme.

Yep, aside from that he has looked as much of a weapon as the Fav.
Can't have been his true running that day.
Would not surprise me at all if Sober Glory ran a big race at the festival.

Definitely not his running based on everything else before and after. He'll likely find 1 or 2 too good on the day but he's certainly a player.

Absolutely. I think he ran something like 9 seconds faster than the Henderson /Ricci horse at Newbury on the same card the time before and yet the run barely got a mention (may have on here not sure?) the well beat runner up that day won next time out. I think it’s time to give the horse a little credit.

The pace in this race could be bonkers with this fella , the fav and Idaho all looking like very strong stayers.

I’d still fancy one of the Irish to have too much speed at the death but it’s starting to bubble up nicely this race

Little form boost for OPS there with Kingston Queen winning her Grade 2.

was green as grass once she hit the front at 2 out as well, wandering all over the place. Would massively mark that win up.

Yep
I spotted the timings the last day
Was v good on the clock today also.
Quicker than Tutti and very similar weights carried
Might have been harder going later in day mind.
But still decent

I usually have a pace angle pick for the Turners at this stage of the season but really struggling this year.

They all look like galloping grinders to me based on what we’ve seen, so who’s gonna grind it out the most?

I think I’ll Sort That is being overlooked in the market, he’ll be hard to pass up the hill if Dec sets the fractions right, he’s tough as old boots

Neither. Sortudo once they've entered him at Punchestown next week and he bolts up. 500/1 related double Sortudo Supreme and I'll Sort That Turners. Fill ya boots.

@Brooksie we’re singing of the same hymn sheet tonight. I’ve been snapping up the silly prices about Sortudo on the machine the last few weeks.

He touched around 200, can see Paul on Leader but wouldn’t be hard for Danny to argue a case for Sortudo in the Supreme.

I think the yard might see him as a stayer though. Just going off the vibes around the time of the lawlors, Saint baco was Paul's choice, but then the money came for sortudo after the ground turned heavy. I'd have to rewatch the race, but from memory, although he couldn't go past I'll sort that, I'm not sure he weakened either. I thought he sort of kept going at the same pace, and another step up in trip might actually be the best thing.

Wouldn't be surprised if he was Paul's ride in the bartlett, which would allow him to ride steinberg in the turners, if they're worried about him being too keen. I think he might have won a bit too easily for bartlett backers liking, not sure if willies a fan of sending any of his standout novices to the bartlett these days.

He traveled into the Naas race effortlessly, he just struggled to go past I’ll Sort That when asked for effort. A fast paced end to end 2m would suit him perfectly.

He’s definitely more in the mould of an Appreciate It than a Kopek.
