2026 Novice Chasers

Being out of his comfort zone will make it more likely that Lulamba will miss fence or two, that was evident in the first mile of today’s race.
Not going to get involved in the tit for tat. What will be will be, but what you say is true and has been true of almost every non 2 miler in the Arkle or Champion Chase. They try to go with the pace and start belting fences. I am not a Lulamba backer but what should give his supporters hope if this is the case is Jago Baie last season. Hanging on in there and then sneaking it at the end. Hewick did it in the King George, to a lesser extent, Corach Rambler did it in the Gold Cup albeit over much longer distances. Do Majborough or Only By Night have the pace of Kopek or Kargese though? I would say a resounding 'no' Lulamba could be finished coming down the hill.

I think the Supreme result will have a bearing on it

Bookies will shorten Lulamba if OPS comes in to lighten Doubles liability

Same if Mullins wins supreme

Listened to as much of the pauling interview with nick this morning. Does anyone know if he mentioned diva? I think he talked about mambo and jukebox only? Was anyone else listening carefully?

Said he wasn't right after the second... Said he has a terrible temperament and may not even go to Cheltenham. Handicaps are possible but he's not happy with him.

. Correct me if I am wrong anyone else

Good point

Looks like The Wallpark only has to get round to finish 4th and qualify for the National Hunt Novices Chase. The plan is alive and kicking.

Nice run, can't be rated too high solely on his chase form, but the British handicapper will probably work off his hurdles mark!

Oscars Brother 148 in Ireland, just given a 6 length beating and 5lbs to The Wallpark. Reckon he could go down 1lb tops. Personally think he'll be above 145, which will be frustrating.

Mclaurey, if getting an entry over the qualifying trip in the next week or so could be interesting. That said, I fancy him wherever he ends up. Trainer knows how to ready one, especially for these connections.

Or he might just buy backmersackme.

Imagine running 5 times over fences ending up 11th, 10th, 7th, 6th & 2nd and being rated above 145 :ROFLMAO:
