2026 Novice Chasers

Is he a beast? Is Cheltenham his track?

Is beating Gold Dancer a few lengths beastesque? Is losing to yellow clay and the new lion at his only run at hq beastesque?

Most likely winner for sure, but not what I’d call bulletproof.
Agree that he still has the Cheltenham track to beat but still wouldn't back against him. I just don't see any dangers.

I’ve got a funny feeling The Big Westerner could go right under the radar in the BANC & upset the apple cart if the ground came up soft.

I done an e/w double with Jade (Mares Chase) after their finish at Limerick on Saturday, Jade had her tapped for toe until the last 100 yards when TBW’s stamina kicked in. Both very good mares on their day with good festival form in the book.

Another one overlooked in the BANC based on KD’s Leopardstown Christmas run is Oscar’s Brother at 50/1, he had KD’s measure comfortably in the Florida Pearl.

Beastesque!
Fucking love that 👍🏿
Final demand is not worthy

They'd be mad to not go for the Browns IMO as he was clearly one of those horses that did not take to Kempton. He was out of rhythm and once that happens at Kempton you can look pedestrian going down the back when something at the front is pinging them and meeting them perfectly. It is no where near the same at Cheltenham.

The massive credit he has is how much he stayed on when they turned in, and he was clawing back all the way up the straight
I’ll always remember Grands Crus vs Bobs Worth for something similar. GC pinging out front easily and Bobs not but easily making up ground without being really asked up the straight. Form was reversed at Chelt. Can see similar with wendigo who surely is better suited to Chelt. Good enough to win… maybe not but have a niggle with final demand, failing to win at the last fez puts me off at the prices

He might be a beast and Cheltenham might be his track , but then again……
At this moment in time his form is no better than Romeo or Kitz.
So even money based on what? He’s not ran in a 3m chase yet.
He’s certainly not bombproof by any means at this stage from what we know, and definitely imo worth taking on with horses at much bigger prices.
No one disputes that he could be a beast, but take evens to find out?

Just added him to the tracker. We know JP buys horses just to have a runner at Cheltenham. The BANC is a gap for him...... interesting

But i would prefer a Koktail Divin victory as i have 66/1 :ROFLMAO:

With the extremes that we seem to be getting nowadays with our weather cycles, do we think we are due a softer than normal festival, or are the trends favouring the opposite?

I am old enough to remember The Thinkers win in a snow blizzard but can’t remember many (any) since then, apart from the stormy gales 2024? but not with incessant rain.

Should we therefore discount horses who need soft/heavy ground to show their best (or even run) or are they the ones to back NRNB ?

Hoping Kaid D’Authie runs a nice race today, form with Kitz, and that form is working out ok with The Enabler and indeed Kitz winning well since.
Stepping up to 2m 5 today, see how he copes with that.
5O/1 available for BANC.
Dont mind a bit of that to see if he improves for the extra distance.

….Hills have added 50-1 TWAF, still 50-1 BANC with 365.

Right... I cant let Kaid go now... I even have a note from last season after he won over hurdles, Mark mentioned how he thought he'd make a better chaser - small bet on the 50/1's for BANC as I'd kick myself he is turns out to be really good
That's some 'about turn' in 13 minutes :ROFLMAO:

He looked quite decent on debut and the you have to factor in the 'JP wanting a horse in the race' factor. A possible

lol yeah, its one of those, cant be making a note in the tracker on a horse, only just to ignore it when at 50/1 for a race for the fez

Hopefully the Regents Stroll hype will calm slightly now. Just not up to the top class level

Big fan of the horse, but I agree. That said, he's had three quick(ish) runs to be eligible for the Jack Richards, he looked laboured today.

I reckon they'll freshen him up and he'll go straight there now.

If he appears at the festival in the Jack Richards in the form of his chase debut, behind Wendigo (could look useful form) then he'll probably go very close in that race!

16/1 with Hills now. Although hopefully NRNB will appear soon and he's likely one I'll get stuck into for that.
