2026 Novice Chasers

Hugely impressive
Could go either way.
Depends on ground but whatever he turns up in I'd trust him.

Agreed, I will say though, over any trip he is going to take some passing, serious horse now, finished article imo.
Agreed as well. Gold dancer is decent yardstick and he’s spat him out with ease there! Very impressed by that. Jumping was slick as well. Was clever at a couple when in close too.

Surprised to see Lulamba still ahead of Romeo in the revised markets.

Agree. Best performance so far this season. His jumping is immaculate. He just flows over them. High cruising speed and showed a neat turn of foot to put the race to bed. I was impressed.

Impressive. He just screams a mid trip expert to me. Travels strongly so would be worried about staying a true 3m, and can see him just lacking pace at 2m.

9/2 Any Race. Nice.

2 goes at the mid trip on flat tracks. The undulations of Cheltenham over 2 miles will negate the extra distance IMO. They have to roll the dice in the Arkle surely. That would be some match-up.

Whilst I think he may get found out, would be crazy not to give it a go. As you say 2m at chelt is closer to 2m2 anyways 🤷‍♀️

Get him over 3m!
Gordon has said he doesn’t want to run him over 3 miles at this stage of his career. But he also didn’t sound over the moon about bringing him back in trip.

The way he travelled suggested more 3 miles than 2 to me.

Elliott said: “That was brilliant, he was good. We always knew chasing was going to be his game and we’re absolutely thrilled.

“It’s just one of those days, the horses are absolutely flying and we’re absolutely delighted.

“Obviously, with Cheltenham you have two or three (miles). We could also come back here at Easter or go to Aintree, they are loads of options.

“The one thing Jack did say is that he wouldn’t be afraid to bring him back to two (miles) off a real fast pace, the way he jumps.

“There is no decision that needs to be made today, we’re going to enjoy it and see what happens.”

When asked if Leopardstown was a possibility over Christmas he added: “Everywhere is open now, we could even end up in Kempton. We’ll keep all options open. We’ll dream about everything.

“I’ll never forget when the two Dave's (KTDA Racing) came to me at the start, the one thing they said was that they’d love to have a horse for the Champion Chase. Whether he’s quick enough for that, I don’t know, but we’ll dream in every direction and see what happens.”

'2 and half looks his trip'

'Wouldnt like to be going 3m this stage of his career'
Great for Arkle backers then. He'd want it soft though. Definitely wait until NRNB though.

He'll get a lovely tow into the race from Kopek, chasing him it'll feel like further than 2m jumping the last.
