2026 Novice Chasers

Really looking forward to the John Francome chase today. Looks a hot little race. The race has an illustrious past producing some superb horses. Previous winners Denman, Bobsworth and Champ have all gone on to win the BANC in the same season and Conygree of course went one better and went and won the Blue Riband!!
One of the best Novice Chases in the British calendar.

Romeo Coolio, Gold Dancer, Captain Cody & Pied Piper are four of the 6 declared for the Drinmore.

Captain Cody actually a Novice? I mean he obviously is to be declared for the race but was surprised he qualified. Probably should look myself but I've typed this now so seems a waste...

Until the end of the year I believe. Someone may correct me though.

Yep agree, being fairly invested in Wendigo for the BANC I'm hoping for a solid performance but as always it looks a decent race...

No idea what they might have in mind for Mambonumberfive but he’s a very economical jumper.Wasted no time in the air just then.
Be keeping an eye on further entries.

Harry Cobden with a suicidal ride on Regent's Stroll, not a chance he was going to maintain, also got passed without being given a hard time then stayed on again and somehow finished as close as he did.

Suspect that was to blow the cobwebs away only. Fully expecting an improved performance next time out!

Wendigo job done, over an inadequate trip which was nice to see :)

Wendigo back in the game. He doesn't win the BANC but we should have a live docket heading in.

I must say.... Regents Stroll is a superb jumper and not one to write off if that race has taken the freshness out of him. He would be one hell of a bet in the JR Novices' Chase. Give him a couple more very difficult tasks and then let him rip.

He had no choice whatsoever on RS COD. The horse was in complete control. Amazed he finished as close as he did. Big engine but a proper nutter.

Got reigns for a reason. Didn't really try, did he?

Nice to see wendigo do the business, not sure how the form will stack up given regents stroll finished so close after the kamikaze approach. If the stroll settles, he will be a smart in in a hcap….Caldwell mark 2??

Don’t think he’ll be beating Final Demand but you never know with that race, happy to have him onside with the win today price, thanks @Eggs for posting the drift.

I’d be surprised if there’s a better English trained challenger for the race come March.

You think he was ridden not to win COD? There would be no point in him losing if he thought he was a BANC horse so if you are right then that race is not the target.......

Decent race, Paulings horse loomed up, I wonder if Ben Jones wish he held onto him a little longer. Wendigo is a proper stayer isn’t he?! As above messages Cobden went off far too quick but Regents Stroll wasn’t giving him much chance.

Need to see if Lucinda's stable form picks up. I can see a similar performance from Derryhassen Paddy second time up but yeah... there is nothing else coming in i wouldn't think from the Brits. I don't think there was a British runner in the race last year. Could be wrong, wouldn't be the first time, but uncommon :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO:

Always nice to get a big boom when you bang the drum.
