2026 Mares Chase

She just won a handicap off 139 with a 4lb penalty so 143, maybe a stone is excessive, need to be in the 150s for sure, Dinoblue was 157 going into last season mares so the ceiling for that race is rising, she is thriving at the moment though,maybe just kick on with her while she's hot instead of making targets right now,she could make me look a nana and end up rated 160 by march if they keep going.

She won off 139, as the 4lb only comes in after the race...

I'd agree with the point though. She's loads to find and surprised she's only 10s

….Hills push Joyeuse out to 50-1 after being beaten at Exeter.

….Diva Luna;

‘She’s in very good order and looks a million dollars,” he said.

“People thought she was fit last time out, she wasn’t. She’ll improve a ton for that run, so I’d like to think she’ll be tricky enough to beat if she jumps and travels nicely.”

Pauling is open-minded regarding plans for the rest of the season with Diva Luna, but hopes she will end up competing at the Cheltenham Festival in March.

He added: “I’d love to think she’d be good enough to run in the Mares’ Chase at the Festival. There are some very nice mares in that division, but I’d love to think she’d be good enough for that.

“We might see how she fares against the boys with the mares’ allowance if all went well at Warwick, too.”

With Gordon Elliott’s Speculatrix a non-runner, Diva Luna is set to be taken on by Henry Daly’s Wyenot and the Neil Mulholland-trained Blue Las.

Better from JDG there. Shame she missed 3 of the last 4, otherwise thought she jumped fine. The ticket isn’t in the bin just yet.

It was definitely a lot better

Was always going to be tough for her to beat the big westerner over 2m6f on soft to heavy

Only By Night ran the kind of race today that should make them give up on Champion Chase aspirations and come here. Would quite like her for this...

….Mullins;

We’ve elected to go across the water with two runners for the Listed mares’ chase at Doncaster. Spindleberry looks well in with the conditions of this race and Danny goes over to ride. She must have every chance.
Fun Fun Fun might have a chance of picking up some place money, but it could be a tough task against her stablemate.

Sending Spindleberry there to see if she can go LH. Judgement day

Happy enough with Spindleberry there. No issues going left, did well on probably the quickest ground faced to date, and recovered from an absolute howler 6 out. She does Jump them low mind!!

The LH experiment was a big success re Spindleberry. Thought she was very impressive. The one to beat now IMO

I remember the owner being very keen to go for the gold cup a while back. Might be even more keen now with it looking an open year. He'll probably be talked down though unless there's something else for townend to ride.

Forgot about that. Aiming high worked ok for Golden Ace owner.
