2026 Juveniles

Yeah but you'd expect it will be rescheduled - although have noticed they've declared Bambino now on Monday
Tight turnaround with another card on Thursday too.

If anyone needed another reason not to back Nicky Henderson horses antepost, manlaga should be another example for you.

Horse purchased by jp last april, hasn't been any notable setbacks made public, trainer stated that she would be out around November or December I think. She wasn't declared to run until Xmas time, but then got withdrawn due to "change in going", even though the going didn't seem to change at all. So it looks like they just shit themselves over starting off in what they thought looked too tough a race. The race turned out to be shite, and if shes any good at all probably would have won. Was then entered again about a week later, but didn't take up that entry either. Now heading into mid january, and she holds no entries.

If you backed her, your now somehow in the situation where a horse who was bought last April after winning, and hasn't had any big setbacks apparently, still hasn't ran yet in mid January. While narciso has who jp bought a month later and fortunately decided to send to mullins, has ran twice, won once, and is current fave, taking advantage of the fact that he was bought early and could get out early and gain experience. Horses who were bought in October are coming out before manlaga, with seemingly no reason for it, other than trainer being covered in his own piss.

Being a JP horse, I be would have thought they would be on board with how he’s being trained and campaigned and having their input?
Does all seem rather strange though, plus a race at Kempton today they could have entered?
Maybe there’s a genuine reason we don’t know about?
Has he been asked do we know ?

Would be good to have a reason other than the rather unsavoury vision I got from your last sentence
😂

I don't think its any secret now she's not worked as well as they had hoped for @ Seven barrows. The fact she was a big money purchase, can understand them not running her so soon and trying to give her every chance of showing some spark at home

Always the danger when buying FR recruits/P2P horses though

For all we know she could have revved for her life on debut with a view to being sold.

I think jp and his lot decide for themselves stuff like race targets and entries, I dont think they'd actually be getting involved with the training side. If Henderson just won't run her for whatever reason he's telling them, I dont think they'd be overruling him in that sense. I dont see any genuine reason for it myself, as there was no genuine reason for her being withdrawn at xmas, and then a few days later I think she was entered for that race today, but then didn't take up that one either, presumably because precious man is even scarier than macktoad 😂

I would prefer my last sentence wasn't true, but the evidence increasingly points that way every season 😂

Have to think he'll turn up in the Adonis along with PN's best juvenile.

Yeah I've heard that a few times but even then I dont understand why that would stop them from running her.

From her run that I saw in france, she didn't strike me as a really flashy type on the bridle, and given pretty much all homework is done on the bridle, I wouldn't have expected her to look as good in work as some others would.

I would have thought if anything, youd be looking to get her out pretty quick to see whether shes better on a racetrack when asked a question, and if she isn't, then you could at least get a few runs into her and she could improve with racing. They've certainly had the time to do that.

It wouldn't surprise me one bit if when we eventually see her, she hacks up once asked a question, and they're standing around after the race saying "that was a surprise given her homework". Pretty sure he thought apples shakira was shite too because of her work, until he found out apples jade was the same 😂

Bertutea looks overpriced for this race at 33-1.
I see he's also 14-1 for the race in Dublin.
Narciso Has is deserved favourite but looks very short for both races to me.
His win last time was only really as good as his first run, give or take a pound or 2.

The form of Bertutea looks very solid in France when he ran as a very young horse last spring and he could not have done it more easily the last day.
Looking at the entries in Dublin, assuming Walsh rides Narciso, then I'd expect Townend to take the ride unless Gigginstown want one of their regulars on, but i doubt that.
I'd be fairly sure he'd go with this fella rather than one out first time for Mullins.

Might be worth seeing how Macho Man and Proactif go on Wednesday as Bertutea could get a little push out even further (maybe unlikely)

Wouldn't surprise me myself if Paul gets on the filly Selma de Vary in the DRF though.

Possibly.
I would doubt that myself though.
She's probably just a wanky little handicapper for now.

Yeah hard to know for sure

Do they run her and just see how she goes

Though Joe said today she was the chosen one for the race, which could be a sign in itself

Last run was a massive improvement on her Spring form that's for sure

Wouldnt surprise me personally if Bertutea ended up boodles bound myself.

Wednesday is a big day for Joe Donnelly juveniles with Macho Man running at Fairyhouse for WPM and the horse he beat into 2nd at Auteuil, Feel Gut, making his debut for NJH at Newbury. Donnelly must have liked that Auteuil race to buy the first two ..................

He’s done it before when Sir Gino beat Salvator Mundi (also at Auteuil)

….from the M Seror stable tour, maybe one @darlojim knows more about;

Miss Des Boullats

She is a cheeky filly and when I ran her over fences at Pau, she ran out at the second fence and unseated her rider. She is a bit hesitant over fences, already in the morning she can be cheeky and the other day, she was probably a little too fresh. She didn’t do it viciously, but she kind of went left, right, left and unbalanced her jockey. She was ridden by Bryony (Frost) and together they had won the Listed race at Auteuil. She has been successful in Paris and would now have to run in a graded race, which is maybe a bit difficult. So, I thought it would be amusing to see how she does in England on a different racecourse. I am going to enter her in the JCB Triumph Hurdle Trial in Cheltenham on the 24th of January. I think she has the right attributes for that racecourse, so why not try it. When I told Bryony, she was happy to go forward with this idea.
