Majborough didn't. I remember backing Soldatino and everyone saying how inexperienced he was as well so pretty sure he didn't either.

Majborough definitely ran in france as a 3yr old,
Soldatino also ran in france on 2nd January that same year.

I must admit that I thought the stat only referred to uk and Ireland runs. Years ago it was not that easy to get hold of French form. But I maybe wrong!

Majborough won over hurdles on the 2nd April 2023 in France before winning the 2024 Triumph. Lossiemouth won a hurdle on the 3rd April before winning following years Triumph. Vauban came from flat racing, made hurdles debut on 31st Dec. Quilixios made a winning debut on 2nd March over hurdles in France over a year before he won the Triumph. Burning Victory didn't made her hurdle debut until 22nd Feb, under a month before Cheltenham, though was another who had come from French flat racing. Pentland Hills was a vastly experienced British flat horse before making hurdles debut on 25th Feb. Farclas was a French flat horse before making hurdles debut on Boxing day at Leopardstown. Defi Du Seuil came from French bumper background, debuting over hurdles on the 16th October. Finally Ivanovitch Gorbatov was a very talented and promising Aiden O'Brien stayer who was seen winning a handicap off 97 before going hurdling on 27th December.

What to deduce from that? Defi was the only horse to debut over hurdles before Xmas in the UK or Ireland. All the others that did had debuted in France in the Spring. As previously mentioned, if Goshen had of won the Burning Victory year then he would have been the 2nd having made his first hurdles start on 17th November.

Interestingly, and probably just coincidentally, the three horses to have made their hurdles debut in France, all won and in March or April as 3yos.
