2026 Hunters Chase

of course last year’s winner is top of most people’s lists but are you saying you would back him no matter what the price? Surely price has to come into the equation?
Decent price isn't he as last year's winner?. Beat the current fav fair and square. Already had a run and win in November this season and now straight there, same as last year.

I’ve had a brief look at this race and agree, I’m going to cover Wonderwall tomorrow. However, I also like Willitgoahead for Elliot. Ran well last year after quite a busy season, and only being with Elliot briefly. Good comeback run against a race for its on the line, albeit receiving 5lbs. I think 10/1 is very fair.

One of @Lobos old bandwagon horses running in hunter tomorrow
Hunters Yarn
Official rating of 150 probably flatters him but has some v good form in his point to points.
No idea what connections plans are but 16-1 NRNB seems fair
Goes up against Panda tomorrow and hunters point form looks better.
Best some v good horse in his points has this lad

I've took a bite of Barton Snow who won well at Ludlow midweek giving weight to our very own @Spectre's Jefferys Cross, has won at Cheltenham already. Jumps well got 18's with the Will Hill boost NRNB.

…..be interesting if that race impacts the Festival, Panda Boy a general 7-1 for March whilst Hunters pushed out to 20s.

Took a bit of the 20-1.. hunter chase , before the race yesterday, for Panda Boy , and bet H.Y in yesterday's race . I still think the horses from last year will be the one's to feature though ., keen on Shearer and Music Drive myself.

….thought it interesting Codd highlighting Chemical Energy, decent course form and likely going straight to the festival fresh.

I’d

I’d say only the fences will get in the way of Barton Snow at Aintree. I’m not sure Cheltenham will suit though. Stamina is the key there, and 3m2f might stretch him. If he can see it out though he’s a very good horse.

Job done for the old boy

Jumped very average today out that ground, much better on Spring ground so wouldn't want it a bog come the festival

Tight track didn't suit either but he's done it well at the line

Assume Patrick rode him today in his quest to ride a winner at every track in the UK ?
Like a nepo version of Phileas Fogg

And will be riding at Chelt (y)

Patrick Mullins rode his first winner at Fakenham as former Closutton resident Stattler won the William Bulwer Long Memorial Open Hunters' Chase.

Now with Faye Bramley in Lambourn, the 11-year-old ultimately won in a canter at odds of 4/6 as he stayed on strongly after stalking the leaders throughout.

Bramley said: "He had almost two years off the track and he has just taken a long time to get fit, however we thought he would still win at Hereford but he didn't.

"Now he is fit he has come back to life and we were very confident coming here today.

"It's a very sharp track around here for him, but we thought his class might just nick it and it did.

"I could see he looked a bit uncomfortable at points, but Patrick said he liked the daylight and every time he got daylight down the inside he picked up again.

"His stamina has come through and he has ended up winning well in the end.

"He will now head to Cheltenham for the St James's Place Festival Challenge Cup Open Hunters' Chase at the Cheltenham Festival as that was the whole idea of coming here to get qualified for that."

….Nicholls intending to have a couple of runners;

Golden Son
Hunters’ Chase, 14-1
He ran really well when winning at Taunton last week to qualify and he should have a good chance. We'll have two in the race but he looks our number one.

Shearer
Hunters’ Chase, 25-1
He ran okay on Saturday – I was hoping for a bit better – but he'll definitely head to the Hunters' Chase. He ran very well in the race last year despite not having an ideal preparation.

….good news, I highlighted him a month or so on here after Jamie Codd said he was going straight there after qualifying.
