2026 Gold Cup

Who's your fancy Opatcho ?
I have a terrible record in the gold cup

Tend back horses I want to win, and tend to side with the classier types that don’t stay - for a whilst I followed in King George winners and took me a while to learn my lesson lol

I’d love to see The Jukebox Man kid win lol, see I’m already falling into that trap ha haa

I’ve only backed A Plus Tard and Galophin the second time

So…. I literally ain’t got a clue

I’d stick with the Irish, and I’d take a go at Gaelic Warrior. Stronger pace should suit and I think he’ll stay all day. Concerned about the Ryanair talk, and then also concerned about jockey booking…

Gold Cup will be a ‘bet on the day for me’, not a massive fan of it tbf, I prefer the 2 mile graded races

Will see who the money comes in for

Ok I’ll bite 😜 can’t have Haiti at all. Didn’t look amazing today IMO jumping below par and beat a G2 at best yardstick who also jumped like a table. If one of jango or Gaelic can’t beat him, it’ll be a poor showing. I’m on both. If it did turn up heavy I get your point tho and Haiti could have a chance….for a handicapper. Also have TJB man covered. He mightn’t stay but he’s a class act.

Jukebox man or Gaelic (if he runs)

Jukebox is the best jumper in the field and has it all
One who I've not done and don't know why really. He's done zilch wrong.

You'll have the winger with that lot as long as you have a little saver on Haiti just in case b

Not sure what's happening with these b's at the end of my text.......perhaps it's an omen

Lobos I think my selection for the gold cup will be to lay Haiti at 7s on the day if hes that price or shorter 👍

Who's your fancy FF?
The comment was re the lhomme presse comment not haiti

Hes not a good yardstick for the gold cup. He was 2 or 3 years ago but not now.

I have backed galopin and gaelic

As far as what i currently fancy the answer would be none of them strongly i can pick holes in them all

F2F. Can he back that monster run up?
Gaelic. Will he settle?
Galopin. Over the hill?
Jango and jukebox. Will they stay strongly enough to win?
Haiti. Is he classy enough?
Spillanes and grey dawning. Are they proper grade 1 horses?

PHaiti beat an absolute top yard stick in LHP today with ease. He is a major player without a doubt. Jumps, Stays and has a bit of class. Major player
Apologies hit the wrong button:D

….Envoi;

I think he has a chance, I really do. It’s sort of like Bob Olinger last year – you look at all the horses he has beaten and they are single figures and then you look at him and he’s some crazy price!

“I thought he was better than ever when he won on his comeback. People said it wasn’t a good race but you only have to look at the form since – if he stays that extra bit and don’t see why he won’t. I am kind of wondering why I haven’t run him in the Gold Cup for the past couple of years.

“The enthusiasm of him and Bob Olinger is amazing. I think it’s seven years ago that Envoi Allen won the bumper which is mad and I think he’s been there every year since.”

Envoi at a boosted 36.75/1 in the bumper was one of my first antepost wins, there is no chance he runs without having my money on him

Very decent place claims at least especially if it came up ground like last year on the Friday.

Jp will supplement though won't he?

I dont recall many similar situations like this with him before, but he doesn't seem like the type to run away to the ryanair for an easy win with a horse who's just beaten the best in Ireland over 3m on heavy, and is current fave for the gold cup.

Would have jonbon as a short price in the ryanair too if he wanted.

Everyone is assuming he supplements Fact to File but in doing that he very likely sends Gaelic Warrior to the Ryanair, who then in my opinion would be a warm order to win that race, so he would effectively throw away a near certain winner in Fact to File for a shot at a race with a horse would have a question mark about his stamina.
Of course the Gold Cup is the Gold Cup but it looks strong this year, I would have thought last year was the time to do it but as we know he had the winner anyway...
