2025 Champion Chase

I think Jonbon is a very good horse. The problem i have is that i don't think he will reach his potential over 2 miles. He looks awkward trying to jump fences at pace. Longer trip, slower tempo and i think he becomes a better horse.

I'd agree. The problem is, I'm struggling to see what beats him prior to Cheltenham so he's unlikely to line up anywhere other than the Champion Chase. I suppose Willie could send one over to the Game Spirit if they go that route.

I've backed him for the Ryanair but regretting that at the moment :frown-new:

Jonbon going to Ascot for the Clarence House. WM does send his over for that race, would not be surprised to see Energumene.

Yep, his record over 2m is very impressive, but I think he would be even better over further, and I would like to see him try the King George.

Based on what we've seen with our own eyes this season then I think Quilixios could test him in the Tingle Creek. 33/1 for the Champion Chase seems generous. Especially when you consider Marine National is 14/1 who he battered 10 days ago at Naas over 2m. Just saying !

I think there’s a danger of people over egging Quillixios’ win last weekend, he was nothing short of horrible in last seasons Arkle and as a chaser he looks well off G1 level to me, even UK G1 without the Irish….

The WTAF price on Quillixios will be huge......150/1 or more?

Haha really?! Remember the price takes into account if he wins. If he’s 33/1 for the festival you’ll get 40/1.

Dinoblue...
The path I am looking at is the Hilly Way Chase at Cork, followed by the Opera Hat Chase at Naas. We were looking at her as a Champion Chase mare this season, but we’ll keep all options open.

Still 33/1 with Denise

Bit of value ?

I'n struggling to believe she goes to the Queen Mother ahead of Energumene, Gaelic Warrior and El Fabiolo, and I can't see Mullins sending 3 to the race.
That said he has namechecked the Mares Chase for a couple of other horses so who knows, a case of having too much talent in the yard....

JP will tell him anyway, so a lot will depend on Jonbon IMO

I say a lot, probably just a little bit as obviously different jockeys - Walsh and Posh Boy

JP has 4/5 others doesn't he that are right up there in the betting for the Mares Chase. He doesn't need that many for a nothing race.

I bet he was gutted he didn't send her to the CC this season as she would have bolted up. Hindsight eh ??

Dinoblue ran a cracker in the mares chase last season on that testing ground with her stamina doubts. Think she wins that this time if less testing.
