Yeah absolutely. Not heard anything yet.

That was a demolition job from Edward.
Only other finisher 40 lengths behind.
Would love to see similar in March, if so EF and J will not be able to afford any jumping issues.
Three horse race now for me.

Agree CAT, it was a game changer performance for me and completely changes the shape of the race. He is the best and slickest jumper of the three and will undoubtedly put the other’s jumping under pressure
 
Best thing about the performance is it will stop El Fab getting any shorter. Max bet on the day for me.
 
Edwardstone gone from QM runner to QM also ran, then Ryanair contender to Ryanair non runner, and now back to the QM as a contender.
All in the one season.
Love it.
And more importantly, the QM has become a lot more interesting .
 
It'd be hugely disappointing if Edwardstone won this year's CC like. And would mean something had happened to El Fab (and Jonbon). It's a one horse race, not a three horse race. I know there's the old cliches about anything can happen and that but even if that was to be the case and I won money on Edwardstone I couldn't enjoy it.

Last year was his chance to win one, and he still couldn't.

More than happy going into this with only one winner. Traditional route :glee:

They said pretty much straight after it was because he was lame so just a precaution

I could see Edwardstone beating Jonbon and def interested to see without price

Hard to trust Jonbon this season & if Edwardstone runs same way, he will put pressure on others jumping

Would need big error or two by El Fab for him to be beaten, but not impossible

But def could see Edwardstone second

Interesting that you don’t think a change of tactics can improve a horses chances and in turn improve a race as a spectacle.
I find it fascinating that this has suddenly appeared, and see nothing wrong if a front runner forces others into
mistakes because he’s jumping for fun up front.
The winner potentially this year now will not be able to win the race unless he jumps well, whereas before yesterday that was not necessarily the case imo.
And imo that should be the case in a Champion Chase.

Edwardstone only had 2.75L to make up on Jonbon from when they met in the Tingle Creek, and ridden how he was yesterday, I don't think anything has to happen to Jonbon for Edwardstone to beat him.

That performance yesterday was really good, better than anything Jonbon has ever done IMO.


If he wins the QMCC, I won't be hugely disappointed .... horses like Special Tiara and Politilogue ran in it before coming back to win it.


I do hope El Fabiolo beats him though :indecisiveness:

Better to see smaller stables win it ….and having visited the stable & met Edwardstone….ill def cheer him on)

He's either being stupid or it's just a a very obvious bluff.
If he doesn't line up and go off in front then I'd be very surprised, although he may have competition for the lead if Willie runs Appreciate It and or Gentlemen de me,

Suddenly the race is interesting again ….thats got to be a positive

Making all in a small sub standard field on heavy ground hasn't changed the look of the champion chase at all like. Not sure why people are wanting it to either to be honest. But GL.
