2023 Stayers Hurdle

No Bolly or Champ
Although I knew Bob probably wasn't going to win based on his last run, the lack of entry puts the nail in the antepost coffin. Saying that... 155, County Hurdle wouldn't be out of the question.

Forgot to enter Champ as well :welcoming:

Id almost forgotten about the horse, but Asterion Forlonge entered for the stayers

Has anyone heard if the horse has had a setback? or is Willie attempting a Penhill x2

He injured himself in last years gold cup and wasn't right when coming back in start of this season. Personally, I don't think they'll even bother bringing him over this season. If he's well I could see them giving Fairyhouse a go, top weight in the Irish National. He went really well fresh last season and imo was about to give Allaho and co a good beating. He seems to like Punchestown though so that would be a possibility.

Flooring Porter looks a little odd on the exchange. Emphasis on the little. Matched at 11s (his highest) and now nothing on the lay side. I’ve put a silly bit in for penny’s to see if the little becomes a lot.

Quite surprised Maxxum didn't get one Just incase of a fair old wallop from the BHA.

If that’s the case then why does he enter others to obtain a mark?

Difficult to say.

But I'm told on good authority that a trainer can request a mark from the BHA (same as they can the HRI in Ireland) before/instead of having to enter a horse in a race.

What the guidelines are on it, are, would be interesting.

I may contact the BHA myself and try and find out

I wonder if they limit how many requests like that can be made ? (total guess)

Otherwise you could send an email every week with a list of 50 horses, and he'd get nowt done :highly_amused:

Logsdon on that Racing post video last week(Friday) knew the mark of two of his that didn't become official until today. Makes you wonder if the BHA hcappers actually rate races within 24 hrs and have marks in the system in chronological order all ready to be published officially every Tuesday.

Yeah, they would definitely draft provisional ratings as the week progresses, as it would be a busy Sunday/Monday otherwise.

Each GB race is rated by the BHA and then BHA Performance Ratings are given for each horse, and then their handicap mark amended (or not) each Tuesday morning for racing up to and including the Saturday prior.

Gaelic Warrior for example ran off 129 in the Boodles, and got a BHA Performance Rating of 134 for his run.

If he were a GB horse then he would have been marked up as officially a 134 rating the following Tuesday.

Absolute scenes if the Constitution Hill/Galopin des Champs/Sir Gerhard/Facile Vega AR RAB comes back from the dead with Sir Gerhard running in the Stayers lol

Would be great that would, I'd written it off but it could be back from the dead !
