2023 Novice Chasers

Jack still down apparently, no news on top bandit. Can't see Jack riding Irish Point after that.

Will be interesting to see his jumping in a proper race & perhaps with something taking him on for the lead. He seemed to meet 2 or 3 of them on a wrong stride & lose a little bit of ground & that’s when getting a freebie on the front. Obviously I’m being critical and he was impressive.

Agree. A nothing race but he doesn't look a quick enough chaser to me over 2 miles. Think he'll be taken off his feet and out jumped by the likes of Dysart and Jonbon in an Arkle.

Didn’t look great. Hoping the camera angle exaggerated things. Don’t often see a fall from behind.

It looked absolutely awful from behind :dejection: hopefully Jack and Top Bandit are ok.

I can’t shake the feeling Appetite It is just a little short on cruising speed for the Arkle. Paul looked like he wanted to be going a shade quicker than he was traveling before Top Bandit fell. Fingers crossed he’s okay, was a nasty fall.

Bad news regarding Top Bandit RIP.

And Jack taken away in the ambulance. (From RTV)

His jumping is very solid

Don't think hes anything like as quick as jonbon is from A to B

Jonbon also looks very quick the first stride after landing

I'm on him for the turners and still think that's where his best chance lies

Exactly as I see it. I'll not back him Arkle now but will go in on Turners.

Completely agree - As others have also said above, I also think he isn't slick/quick enough compared to DD in particular. Looks a Turners horse all over for me

It's 14th march 2023, Appreciate it has just won the arkle.
Some Fat jockey members still insist he's most likely to step up to the turners :beguiled:

5/1 nrmb for both races.
If I wanted to back him I would do both and hope he ends up in Turners.

The 'issue' with the NRNB Turners price, is he could run 2m at the DRf and lose, and go Turners....

Whereas, if he loses at 2m at the DRF, he definitely wouldn't go Arkle would he?

Arkle NRNB is either no run, or goes off shorter..... Turners is slightly riskier....

The 10/1 with cashout for Turners is still tempting as an alternative IMO

It's a really tight call.
If they all run in Dublin, his 2 milers - and he comes a length or 2 second to one of his others ?
Where's he go then ?
And what's his price ?
I think this is most likely to happen. So it'll be touch and go as to which race he takes his chances in.
And will also depend on how strong Willie looks or doesn't look in the Turners after Dublin.
Lot of plates spinning I reckon.
5-1 ain't bad though if you really like him.

Who does paul townend ride @ drf in your opinion?

Assuming they all run
Appreciate It.
He usually goes for the least risky one.
But he'll not be sure, that's for sure, to be sure.

No point backing AI in Arkle if you don't think he'll win it though ??

It would be because I like the horse and want to be on him just in case he does win the race I don’t think he will

I think that makes sense!!

But to be honest, and it’s difficult to be too confident I should add, I do think the Turners gives him best chance of winning.

Don't think this is as cut and dried.
