2023 Novice Chasers

I watched " The finishing Line" last night . Andrew Gilligan think's Jonbon will go to the Turner's.
Made for a trip and , J.P doesn't "like" ? / prefer ? the Arkle ??.... in his opinion.

Nicky Henderson doesn't seem to be of that opinion

Being able to stay a bit further is never a hindrance in the arkle anyway

Absolutely Lobos., We at least can be sure that he''ll start out over 2 miles , Newbury ? ., November ?.,

Kempton 2m2 21st November :indecisiveness:
River Maigue (can't remember him)

Maybe CC , I was thinking the hennessy meeting where he ran last year .
I'll have to look back through the cards , see what novice chases there were. /Or any ?.

G2 2M4F Berkshire Novices Chase and the G2 2M7F John Francome Novices Chase across the two days. Rest of the chases on those days are handicaps.

Exactly right. The 2 mile race is a novice handicap that Mister Coffey ran in last year. It's a class 3 and looks like a 0-140

Absolute chancers them 3.

Novice Hurdler to follow 'Facile Vega' - Embarrassing

I see Jonbons price has retracted even further with a couple of bookmakers, now some go 9/2.

So what does he have in the way of 2m chasing opposition over these waters?

Monmiral?
Goshen (before anyone laughs, I believe he's the highest rated hurdler going novice chasing trained in the UK)?
West Cork?

Are there any glaringly obvious ones I've missed?

Maybe soaring glory, adagio, Tommy's oscar, spotted these 3 when having a glance on oddschecker at the arkle Market

Not glaring by any stretch, but I think JPR One will come on leaps for a fence.

I quite like stage star if he was to step back down in trip. He looked a 2 miler to me last year and not sure why Nicholls kept wanting to go the 2 and half route. He jumped hurdles very well so if he translates that and back down in trip I think he could be very decent. I'm not saying he'd beat Jonbon but he'd be second on my list over 2 miles. on the negative side though, Nicholls will probably avoid cheltenham with him anyway and I have no idea if he will drop him in trip.

Adagio has been really well supported for The Cesarewitch. Was around 12/1 a week or so ago but into 5/1 now with a lot of bookies.

I think iv seen it said all 3 go chasing this year, for me the only one I'd be half interested in is tommy's Oscar, realistically is he going to win? Probably not but maybe place? Quite possibly as we know the arkle sometimes cuts up, at 50s or 33s with cash out I think anyone making a book will probably want him onside (maybe not right now as unlikely to be cut before running imo) as he could end up being kept up north before cheltenham and look half decent beating not alot and as a result look like he's got a realistic chance of placing on the day and be alot shorter in the market

Wouldn't surprise me at all if monmiral ended up improving considerably this year

Last season was essentially a complete right off after his injury

He's always looked a chaser in the making

But he will end up at Aintree won't he, unless he's an absolute monster Nicholls won't run him at Cheltenham

a horse I'm looking forward to seeing but not so much for Cheltenham ante post more as a horse to follow for the season

I will double check , but i believe the ch. hdl is the plan for Adagio. ??.
