2023 Bumper

Faking or pretending you’ve done or heard something and passing it off as your own experience is one thing. If he’s doing that then he should stop.

But in his defence, surely we all regurgitate and/or process information.
You don’t wake up with knowledge you have to read and watch and listen and experience stuff.
And he can’t help being posh.

Yes, he irritates me - but mainly for his hair and slow delivery. That might be my youtube speed setting though. :stupid:
I picture you all with good haircuts, so it keeps me calm (er).
Lobos - how's the afro ?

But good luck to Josh and anyone trying to do what he’s done.

Spot on...anyone claiming to have an original thought is deluding themself...at best it is original to them but someone else will have had it before them. There will always be injustice and there will always be people wishing they had made more use of their own thought process. We are all free to exploit our own and others thinking. If others are more determined or more capable of exploiting our own thinking than we are ourselves then we always have the option of being more purposeful ourselves. If we choose not to then why would we deny others that do so in our place.

I have had my thinking plagiarised regularly throughout my career and life and people have benefitted more from my brain financially than I have myself. The truth is they had and have more drive than I did and do. I don’t begrudge them. I am happy with my lot and happy to have contributed to theirs.

I get this is likely a minority view or perspective but is a different way to look at things perhaps. Whenever I listen to anybody exploiting intellectual property in the racing world I don’t see a person smarter than me or more knowledgeable than me I just see someone with more drive and more purpose than me.

Caldwell potter looks like GE main dart in the last @navan on Sunday, 33s with 365 kings/better both scratched.

114 RPR in his last run which was a win doesnt really scream champion bumper quality

No not on current form, however, Gordon's last 2 sent to this race were American Mike and Sir Gerhard. Which could be a clue as to where they rank at home. Full brother to Mighty Potter, lovely big imposing horse, quite similar to Mighty Potter in build actually. Might not quite get to the level of that horse but with the Dam producing some nice horses, French Dynamite another one of them, there could be reason to believe this horse might be quite useful. My one worry is that he looks like he'd want further already, and if the champion bumper turned into a slowly run affair I think he'd struggle to quicken against the speedier sorts. If it became a test of stamina though I think he'd enjoy that sort of test. 33's is fair all considered.

Fair points made there. On caldwells debut at punch, gordon was asked about the gamble on what was assumed his second string cardaman hill, GE said the money had probably come because caldwell was still a bit weak and would be a horse for nxt year. I think GE was suprised by how he put cardaman away that day and this entry may be significant imo of course.

Can't find the Protekting mention in the Let's Talk Racing vid anymore.

Edited out or am i just missing it?!

Yeah its been edited out, they changed the title too as it had "mullins bumper tip" or something in it too

Apparently the reference to Quais de Paris has been edited out as well. I watched it shortly after the release and it was definitely there - they were dead keen on it. Texted a mate who watched it this evening and no reference to either…

Could it be as innocent as Josh’s chuffing horrendous pronunciation? He even emphasised the ‘kk’ in Protekking

For a lad in his early 20s, I think Josh has done really well and is knowledgeable. I enjoy his videos and don't find him irritating at all. Good luck to him.

Yes he said the vibes were strong for QDP

Either he's injured or his source in the mullins yard wasn't very happy

Is it 3 bumper runs or 4 that you're allowed before running in the Champion Bumper? That would be the third for Caldwell Potter. I assume they have decided against a hurdles campaign in that case... would usually be a blind bet sort of entry that.

They are allowed four runs before The Champion Bumper.

Good for you. I’ve not offered comment on his ability/irritability. I was suggesting the comment might have been removed because he mispronounced the name of a horse who he thinks might be a superstar - as opposed to a more cynical reason for removing tips which don’t bear fruit …

Patricks on blizzard of oz tomorrow split impulsive dancer mercurey in a listed bumper last year, Patrick recently said blizzard was the one he most excited about this year, could be his CB ride.

I backed him early doors but that Mercurey form isn’t working out brilliantly. A bit worried he’s out so close to Christmas too with Willie sending his best to Leopardstown usually.
