2022 Turners Novices Chase (ex Marsh)

I emailed Willie Mullins last night (more in hope than expectation) and his team responded that Jungle Boogie is well and they are looking at going novice chasing this year.

Wowsers......fair play to you and them for replying.

Interested in any updates on Blue Lord today. With James Du Berlais OFTS he could end up Munir & Souede's runner in this.

Not heard any updates, but wondered the same as the owners do seem to like a runner here. He doesn't mention Blue Lord but in Daryl Jacobs horses to follow piece for Sporting Life he mentions that Fred is going chasing and potentially going up to the mid distance. Second on the list of horses discusses so must quite like him:

"Fred

He had a little bit of an injury at the end of last year. He's come back this year really well. I worked him this morning and was very happy with him; his first piece of work. He probably won't be out for about three, three and a half weeks. We're going to go chasing with him this year and I think he could be quite exciting. He's a lovely athletic jumper and very much looking forward to hopefully having a good season with him. We might start him off over two but I think he's definitely two and a half plus."

Grand Paradis seemed to come there on the bridle and seemed to just blow up. After that he was never catching the winner. Looked a decent pace they went as well.

Had jumped well until he pecked on landing. Not ideal but won’t right him off after that.

Not sure anything will trouble Bob out of that.

Jessie knew!

I can't wait to go over fences with him – his schooling has been magic. He won his last two races over hurdles and wants a bit of nice ground, which is why I'm happy to get him out earlier. He was just no good on heavy ground last winter and then came alive in the spring, with his best run when bolting up at Punchestown. He's declared for Down Royal on Friday and we just hope there isn't too much rain for him. He'll be a two-and-a-half mile novice chaser and we hope he's Graded class.

Lifetime Ambition...

Assistant trainer Kate Harrington said: “He got his act together at the end of last year and he is a horse that is only filling his frame. From when we jumped him over fences in the autumn, he was just different league.

“Sean said he has never ridden a horse to have so much scope as he does. He could be exciting. We have a few jumpers and a few quality ones, but he is exciting. The entries for the Drinmore are on Wednesday so he will probably get an entry. I wouldn’t be afraid of stepping him up in class. He’s very good.”

The wrong thread (and even the wrong section perhaps), but connected to Lifetime Ambition. It's well worth a watch of LA's race at Punchestown, which was easily a lifetime best. He was an improving horse through the second half of last season and should be taken seriously.

Now for the off topic bit. A watch of that Punchestown race and a bit of additional research will unearth a very good bet in the Greatwood Hurdle in 15 days time too. I won't post the name, but for those interested, the horse is currently 20/1 antepost, and will go off single figures. It remains to be seen what the UK handicapper gives him, and there is a small risk is he doesn't get a mark to get in. It's a risk worth taking to get the early price in my opinion.

Spectre as a very small part owner of captain kangaroo I hope you are referring to one of many horses that has beaten him, presume the time when the kangaroo was 1/5 on

Prefer that this isn't posted on here myself.

Conflicting info in the SL stable tour!

He was very impressive in his runs last season. He’s a huge, tall horse who can sometimes be hard to keep right but he’s one we’re looking forward to in the staying hurdle division.

Does anybody think Galopin Des Champs will end up here instead of the RSA?

I still think he will go the RSA. With Klassical Dream staying over hurdles, GDM said to be staying at 2.5m, there aren't many others for the RSA. His best performance was over 3m soI don't think they will drop back now. And also Patrick (not the most reliable I know) mentioned the Don Poli Route which would be RSA in the end

Don't think so but entries/runs could change targets. No one knows at this stage.

This is what I received. Mullins Bingo at its best.

Just shows you can't believe everything that comes out of their mouths. Happens EVERY season. Let the horses do the talking.

Absolutely. We have to remember that trainers aren't doing what they are to suit the punters so we have to take care with any info passed on.

I could see Concertista coming here. 152 rated hurdler, its a nice place to start from when going novice chasing. Maybe assuming the mares chase is the wrong way to go..

Anyone else thinking of covering GDC here? And/or Stayers!!
