2022 Triumph Hurdle

The stronger the pace, the better Porticello is, he's guaranteed a good pace to aim at in the Triumph and I think he goes there with a right chance as long as there's a good bit of cut in the ground.

Yep. Hugely underated horse.

Maybe I'm in the minority but I think the opposite, unpopular opinion, over rated... think the race last time suit him and would expect Porticello reverse at Cheltenham if they both face each other!

Porticello given good ride today, brought out stamina, biggest asset.

LTO not given a chance to show his stamina and was closing against Knight Salute when rave was lost. Both very good horses.

Icare Allen most impressive for me on the day, given was his debut in a good race, green as grass at the start and at the finish. Looks to have plenty of scope.

I will have them both covered. Right now they would be mine against the field.

Porticello to Aintree as per Luke Harvey

Haven't seen/heard the interview but such an odd decision if true.
The horse clearly needs a stamina test and the New Course 17f cavalry charge stiff finish challenge that the Triumph brings looks ideal, what makes them think a flat Aintree on potentially quick ground will suit more ?
I'll need to see if there any context to the comment as he looks made for a fight up the hill to me...

Icare Allen was decent and had more under the bonnet there. Iroko over at Chepstow didn't run all too bad either in 4th albeit beat 16ls- he had run behind Icare Allen. So it'll be interesting to see how they all compare in time.

I followed Iroko today, had the same look as the Elham Valley and Hous Gris performances in the race last year where they were non triers, the Fred Winter immediately came to my mind then and it did again today...

Has form with Icare Allen in France also. Came 4th 9 1/2 lengths behind him.

….the 16-1 RaB for it to win at Aintree would look ok now.

A few in the Hills specials section;

Icare Allen 16-1 (14-1 bestbelsewhere)
Iceo 20-1 (best 14-1 elsewhere)

French Aseel.

Does anyone know what became of the above who was fancied for the 2021 Triumph.
It was announced by Willie Mullins that he was scratched from the above and is not even listed as a Mrs Jim Donnelly owned animal any longer.
French Aseel cost the Donnelly's a small fortune from Ellie Marie Holden's yard after trotting up on it's only run over hurdles.

Where's he not listed as being owned by the Donnelly's anymore?
