Icare Allen with the win, will be interesting to see how the form works out going forward.

Won that nicely and no major concerns with his jumping. Hat in the ring but needs to do it up in grade next.

Agreed. I think the 14/1 still available is perfectly fair as well.

…16-1 with 365 (edit; just gone 14s).

interesting to see Vauban in comparison.

Yes that 14/1 is another free hit for me to go again. Apart from Fil Dor (who I don’t have), it’s fairly open race at the moment. The upcoming Chepstow race is run in a bog so the winner there could be flattered.

Happy to have him in the book but don’t think he’s the winner. Ran well despite being buffeted a fair bit, but there remains fair potential for Vauban to be Willie’s no.1 IMO.

Vauban is coming off the flat though whereas Icare Allen has a proper jumping pedigree. Not saying Vauban won’t be able to jump but it doesn’t always translate (see Gentleman Joe for current proof).

Well that was taking from Iceo. Pulled like a train, under a 5lb penalty and won by 25 lengths.

very impressed with that, took the 16s

yep. was looking at the time and 2 secs slower than epatante. but ground was soft today and gs/good in places yesterday. that looks to be a monster performance

as its a Nicholls horse will prob be aimed at aintree though:biggrin-new:

That is unfortunately always the risk with PN, especially with juveniles.

Betfair cut the winner to 16-1 from 50-1 for the Triumph Hurdle at the Cheltenham Festival, but Nicholls warned: “For a horse like him the Triumph Hurdle is not necessarily the be all and end all.

You gotta love Nicholls. Thats because it won't be good enough. :glee::glee::glee::glee::glee::glee:

Is this an actual quote? Can't tell any more because Nichols is such a parody these days.

Can't jump but that engine is huge.

Yes on that ground it was a powerful performance. Jumping could be his downfall but the same was said about Goshen. Some good juvenile performances today.
