2022 Stayers Hurdle

Mrs Milner cut from 66/1 into 25's with Willy Hill after winning.

50's still with SkyBet if anyone is interested.

I still don’t think she will win a stayers hurdle but 50/1 is very good value for a former pertemps winner. Hard to find anything 25/1 & above for the open grade 1s that isn’t a literal no-hoper, which even though I ultimately don’t think she will be good enough to win makes it very hard to turn down
 
Interesting comments from Paul Nolan today regarding Latest Exhibition, they could send him back hurdling this year apparently, nothing concrete though.

Forgot she was even running!! Just watched it back. Did it very nicely. Looks to have improved again from last season. The Stayers must be on the agenda. Another Mare taking Grade 1 honours.........it's getting ridiculous now. A nice 66/1 shot to have in the bag. Who's next then?.........oh yes.........the Munster chase. Loads of Cheltenham pointers today. Can't keep up with it !

Paul Nolan on Racing TV still undecided if Latest Exhibition will stay over fences or not as the chasing division is so strong. Paddy's have cut him to 14s for the Stayers but B365 are 33s.

Nothing wrong with Latest Exhibition's ability over fences, he bumped into a damn good one who is no longer on the radar this season

Nolan didnt want to bump into Monkfish again, well.... he wont now given Monkfish is out for the season. Instead of continuing with LE route to the GC, he'd rather stick him back over hurdles. WTF

LE is pretty much my primary GC AP selection, and really liked his profile. So annoying to hear defeatism so early in the season

I have to say sending LE back over hurdles would be complete cowardice.

his only failing was being unable to beat the pre eminent horse of the division, who has now been ruled out. You should be licking your Lips ffs

Owner must also agree but if I owned LE I would move it for the sake of its career.

Thats a bit harsh Robith! At 8 going on 9 improvement is unlikely and despite being by Oscar LE doesn't appear to want marathon trips. That puts them between a rock and a hard place IMO. Do they run a chaser that looks limited to mid 150's level into top seasoned 160+ chasers and repeatedly bang their head against wall as they did with Monkfish, or do they look for an 'easier' campaign. I know it looks a bit cowardly, but its important to remember that Paul Nolan has 3 horses rated over 140 - thats a far cry from the big three in Ireland and if Paul thinks mid 150's is LE's ceiling, then why wouldn't he look to capitalise on a weaker looking hurdle division with so much prize money up for grabs? That prize money could help sustain the future of the stable for all we know, so theres more to think about here. Flooring Porter won more last season than most the GC runners last year combined!

Surely they need to run him over fences against the best chasers before they decide he isn't good enough. If he does then get well beat then go back to hurdles for the rest of the season, to give up before being given the chance is poor.
 
I hope Latest Exhibition goes for the stayers. I think his fencing lacks scope and his heart & class kept him in races despite this. He was excellent in his novice hurdles season when closely matched with Monkfish & Thyme Hill.

Yep! I thought he’d dominate the stayers division after his 2019 win. Hasn’t quite happened. And now it’s a case of him not being quite as good as he was and throwing the dice with a chasing campaign late in the day. At 9 years I wouldn’t go near him.

Why surely? Paul said there are probably better chasers out there and he is more qualified than you or I to give that view. PN will know what he has on his hands and is hardly gonna pass up a GC chance lightly, it wouldn’t make any sense. Easy for people to say ‘poor’ without considering variables they’re completely in the dark to. You haven’t seen him schooling. He might be making mistakes at his fences in which case a run over fences and risking the stable star would be the height of stupidity. He could have a residual injury that’s less likely to be aggregated jumping hurdles than fences. He could be much less enthusiastic than he once was and doesn’t show them much over fences at home, etc etc.
