Any thoughts on concertista coming here? Probably just the fact that she’s been left in at 6 days, but persistent blue on exchange and bookies

I don’t think you could 100% rule it out, it’s less likely now she’s been chasing but definitely worth the 4/1 NRNB imo as he’d go straight into fav at likely 15/8 or shorter.

Although I'm keen on Concertista for the Mares Chase it's been quite telling how little Willie has mentioned her for the Mares Chase. Even the other day he said she jumped fences and hurdles. He seems to have a very soft spot for Elimay too. She's definitely one to watch on the exchanges for this.

You have to worry about Willies other hopefuls in this race if they are considering running Concertista here. Gone off and happy to scratch Stormy Ireland (been here multiple times and lost) and Burning Victory (poor jumper)

Take out Royal Kahala based on the comments from connections, you're left with Telmesomethinggirl, Concertista, Queens Brook, Echoes In Rain vs the field.

I think Telmesomethinggirl is a good thing here. This was her only target, ran well considering the penalties she has had to call. She's a battler, and if they go at a decent clip here then I see her to be the only to fight it out up the hill. Apart from Honeysuckle, I feel Telmesomethinggirl is the most obvious winner on day 1 :kiwi-fruit:

The Owners have Zambella in the mares chase as well , so maybe a thought as to splitting them up ??.

I’ve said this for a while now. Why on earth would you run in a grade 2 race that your less likely to win than a grade 1 race. She’d have to give seasoned chasers elimay and mount ida 3lbs. For a horse clearly lacking in chasing experience why would you be schooling her over hurdles and fences. It wouldn’t surprise at all if she switches and theyve had no intention of running her in the chase all along

Not a bad point until the last sentence.

NRNB for this doubled with Elimay / Mount Ida and any other Mares Chase horses would have been / would be worth considering.

Main runners: Sir Gerhard (Supreme/Ballymore), Dysart Dynamo (Supreme/Ballymore), Blue Lord (Arkle), Appreciate It (Champion Hurdle), Concertista (Mares’ Hurdle), Stattler (National Hunt Chase), Galopin Des Champs (Brown Advisory/Turners), Energumene (Champion Chase), Chacun Pour Soi (Champion Chase), Facile Vega (Champion Bumper), Allaho (Ryanair), Klassical Dream (Stayers’), Vauban (Triumph), Al Boum Photo (Gold Cup).

interesting price on the RP - key point here being concertista in mares hurdle - obviously could be a mistake but we will find out soon

Last price matched on Betfair before betting suspended was 13.0

Looks like a typo from the Journalist, more than anything.
I'm watching the lay side of the mares chase and nothing is happening.

Lots of pace on. HHU, SI and BV could make it a good test. We will definitely know if EIR stays but Townend picking SI puts me off all of Mullins lot.

Agree. SI has already had two pops at the race and failed so I don't see any of Mullins mob winning. Telmesomethinggirl's to lose. Trained to the minute for this race all season.

Patrick on EIR. Going for a bias positive here, 1/1 on her...

I couldn't have Stormy Ireland but with Paul T opting for her, you would think she is the one pleasing the yard closest to the race, which is something Willie always uses as an argument for making late decisions. That's interesting, as the vibes from the stable appeared to favour Burning Victory in recent weeks. Looks like they are still trying to find out about EIR.
