2022 Flat Racing Antepost thread

Very long ban incoming for Soumillon, will most likely keep his arc ride as bans dont immediately come into effect but not a good look https://twitter.com/AtTheRaces/statu...Yx4P3o4tw&s=19

I really hope he gets a proper ban for that. Absolutely disgusting from a experienced jockey. The speed they go it could have resulted in a career ending injury.

Just seen he's been given a 60 day ban, not nearly enough, IMO.

Can still ride in the Arc and it's end of the season. So literally is banned when nothing is on. Pointless.

Breeders Cup and other international meetings he'd probably have rides at? British champions day maybe?

But aye, delaying it until after the Arc is doing him a favour.

If the platinum queen breaks well and gets to that rail from draw 7 she will be very tough to catch

Maybe. Can see her winning the battle for the lead but that'll take a fair bit out of her. Not many 2 year olds win it either do they. Happy to be against her to be honest.

Not too exciting but Couer De Pierre was where I landed on. Slightly concerned he's badly outpaced early, as well as a few others. If he can hold a position from 8, with TPQ going forward from 7 then he'll have a proper chance at the finish. Going to add him though.

Sky paying 6 places in the Arc if anyone is keen on an each way...

Rossa has taken it well to be fair. Didn't even seen to blame him for it post race.

As much as I'd love vadeni to win it'd be a really bad look for racing if soumillon was to be the winning jockey 2 days after deliberately elbowing a colleague off a horse moving at 35mph

Les Femmes Frankel

Sunday Longchamp

Kelina 1.50

Alpinista 3.05

Nashwa 3.50

77/1 Treble for two warm favourites and a second favourite seems worth a shot (b365)

The ground at longchamp is a disgrace, horrific scenes few minutes ago with another horse breaking down in the same place in which coroebus sadly lost his life a few weeks ago

Thought TT was going to get here for a second. Despite trying to put a positive spin on it before I'm going to blame the draw now. :welcoming:

Happy for Alpinista connections though. Morris kept it nice and simple from 6 as well to be fair.

I was shouting TT on as well , at least got a place . in a few multi's of mine.

With regards to the Arc, I feel like I'm going to wait until nearer the time to see what the ground is like.

I won't be going near Luxembourg at his price, but if it comes up 'Good' or 'Good-Soft' I'll likely back Alpinista, anything worse than that and I'll be backing Torquator Tasso to follow up last seasons win.

Should have just backed both and would have been on for double bubble :watermelon:

Nevermind. With the addition on Vadeni that I noted in a further post I just about come out ahead, which is the main thing!

A bit like others, I blame the drww for TT too :highly_amused:

La Petite Coco 8/1 Champions Fillies & Mares Stakes

I've been backing La Petite Coco for this race for the last few weeks at between 10/1 and 8/1. Having now got as much as I wanted on, I'm putting her up on here as a fantastic ew bet.

Firstly, unlike many in the market, we know she's definitely going here. Twomey said in the Racing Post a few weeks ago that this was her main target for the second half of the season. Secondly, her form this season is really stacking up. On her reappearance, she beat a race fit My Astra. My Astra finished a never nearer 4th in a G1 at Longchamp over the weekend. Two starts ago, La Petite Coco was beaten less than 3 lengths by the subsequent Arc winner on ground that was probably quicker than ideal. Most recently, she was looked after when trying and failing to give 6lbs to Above The Curve. ATC finished a never nearer 3rd in the same Group 1 as My Astra over the weekend, but importantly, the defeat was over 1m 2f rather than the 1m 4f on Champions Day.

I am confident that 1m 4f will bring out the best in La Petite Coco. Her best RPR is over the trip (behind Alpinista). I am also confident that she wasn't fully fit last time out, given that it was not her main target for the end of the season. With natural improvement for the trip and fitness, she's got to be going very close. As a further bonus, there are plenty listed above her in the market who are by no means guaranteed to arrive on the day. Above The Curve had a gruelling race in France and may not recover in time, Emily Upjohn hasn't been seen since disappointing badly in July, Sea La Rosa is miles behind La Petite Coco on official ratings and Sweet Lady appears very dependent on very soft ground.

While this is unquestionably an open race, and there are three-year olds who will pose a threat, I cannot believe that there will be three horses who turn up on the day better than La Petite Coco. I have gone to town here and am hopeful of a very decent return.
