I doubt anyone who takes horse racing seriously would ever question Henry as a trainer

If envoi doesn't live up to the hype, it'll be because it was just hype not because of Henry.

Very fair comment, Envoi obvs if he went to Mullins we would all assume he’s set for life but you’d have to ask would he have kept him apart from Monkfish next season and campaign over shorter?

All ifs & buts, I’m glad he’s gone elsewhere thou so hopefully he’s campaigned to take on the staying chasers and not kept apart from the Mullins stars(hopefully)

Darver Star update:

https://www.irishracing.com/cheltenham-news?prid=216093

"I’m leaning towards the Marsh at Cheltenham with Darver Star and if not we’ll probably go for the Grade 1 at Fairyhouse," said Cromwell.

“He was disappointing the last day at Leopardstown and then kept on late in the straight. A few of mine were not running well around that weekend and the ground is important to him as well.

Could be decent EW value? I know lots here have been keen on him stepping up in trip. 33/1 NRNB widely available.

Anyone found a without Envoi market. Paddy and Bfair have them. Will took it down because of the gordon thing the other day.

ANy others ?

Not to be sniffed at this i don’t think. This race will be worse than last years Ballymore, and he went off 4/7 for that.

It's annoying me that I'm even considering that.

Is it possible he's near evens on the day?

Will the moving of yards affect it?

Will the number of favs beforehand?

I’d say it all hinges on how ballyadam & sir g fare Kev. If the move hasn’t appeared to negatively affect them, he could be half the price (evs). I think the race will be comfortably weaker than last years Ballymore.

I'm not sure Ballyadam losing will have any impact whatsoever on Envoi Allen myself.

Sir Gerhard would, as people will have that double... as it's consecutive races too.... which shouldn't matter, but would (to the price, not chance of winning)

I’d think if they both come out & run like shit, there would definitely be (not unfounded) speculation the moving yards had unsettled the horses. Which could cause him to be weaker in the market than he otherwise would be

Ah yeah, very good point. I take it back, Ballyadam running like shit would definitely start the idea and Sir Gerhard running like a drain would impact it.

I agree - I don't think it'll happen, but was wrong to dismiss it as no impact :encouragement:

The example Ruby gave last week on the 'Road to Cheltenham' about quarantine for the Melbourne Cup (2 weeks in Newmarket for Irish horses, then 2 weeks in Oz) helped calm my Envoi nerves a little. I think if this had happened 2 months before the Festival i'd be more worried than I am with it being 2 weeks. As it is i'm bullish. We shall see.

Hopefully for all of us we don’t have to find out!

I’ve had a go with Fusil Raffles in the w/o Envoi market at 10/1 - still 3 places with PP.

I can see this only having 6/7 runners & looks like decent ground, so you’ve got a shot of the win (better than 10s IMO) and excellent chance of being in the first 4 for the place money.

Beating Lieutenant Rocco giving it 7lbs over 2m4f in December looks decent now & target confirmed as this

Betfair gone evens on envoi - up to ?20 if that interests anyone.

....Hills Countdown offer is Envoi @ evens.
