Tough race for Bob Olinger in the Lawlors Of Naas on Sunday.
Arguably a tougher assignment than what Envoi Allen had to face in last years renewal, IMO.
Might not be going ahead. Inspection today at Nass at the track is frozen.
Would this race be saved to run at a different course in a few weeks?
Maybe reading into it too much as Mullins only runner in the lawlors, but Townend booked on board Blue Lord, any significance? Added 20/1. I know as mentioned and met with support with tipsters with platform putting up Gailard Du Mesnil for here, but wouldn't be bad having another arrow for a Willie horse!
Has had a few run here who did drop back to 2 and ran in supreme in the past though, elixar last year and Bellshill who won it few years back but disappointing in supreme albeit.
Nah, I think he's a red herring :highly_amused: His flat form (in France) was average, his maiden hurdle, whilst winning, was against a horse that was well behind in the bumper last season, and ultimately turning into another Debuchet (for same trainer at that stage of his career).
If Bob Olinger can't put him away then I will be extremely disappointed. I may even quit :highly_amused:
Willie & Patrick have spoken highly of Blue Lord and he won his maiden and is talented. Worth a punt I reckon at big odds
Tell me a horse they don't speak highly of when in training with them?
What's he said about that one then?
That he's for sale I expect !:biggrin-new:

If you listen to this weeks “Road to Cheltenham” when they discuss the novice divisions (towards the end of the show) Ruby isn’t overly complimentary to Gaillard du Mesnil - says the last race fell apart a bit & was well beaten by Holymacapony first time so not sure how consistent he is & would want to see him run well again - but he’s another quite complimentary to Blue Lord. Best listen & make your own minds up, but that was my interpretation. That’s not to say I am rushing to back Blue Lord but more I’m not sure Galliard du Mesnil is Willie’s number 1 chance.
I think the price collapse on Gaillard Du Mesnil is horrible.
You'd have to assume it's somewhat informed money that it's the target and not just the tipster that put it up as the price completely crashed didn't it?
10/1 best priced is really stingy.
Willie saying keeping himself and Appreciate It apart people probably latched onto that - as it almost confirmed his target and because he said that people assume they are the best two novices he has.
Andy Holding and Upping the Ante just added to the momentum.
